Hi all,

I am coming from a TAG watch that i've had for a long time and now as a aviation enthusiast and possibly a future pilot , I am looking to change my watch as I've heard good things about breitling's and they also look really nice.

I have narrowed it down to the Airwolf Raven with the steel band, any thoughts or reviews as I see it's pretty new?

Much appreciated
John

I recently got a regular Airwolf and I could not be happier with it. It's really functional and I can easily access all functions while the watch is on wrist (although I have read that some have issues operating this watch and its predecessor, B-1, while it's on wrist). To me the operation of the watch is very intuitive but I do own another watch with a similar movement (ETA 988.333) so perhaps I already have enough experience with this type of watch. It's my first thermocompensated watch and in the first 2 weeks of ownership it feels like I'm wearing an atomic clock on my wrist as it's been completely spot on with the time shown at http://www.time.gov.

I think the Airwolf Raven looks great but one thing you may want to consider is that the bezel is rubber coated. I'm not sure how durable it is, but if you scratch/rip it, it'll probably look a lot worse than the brushed bezel. That's the only reason why I didn't look into the Raven version of the Airwolf. If you're comfortable with that, the Airwolf Raven is certainly a good looking piece.

I got mine on bracelet but will be wearing it on the Ocean Racer strap for the summer:

Thanks for them pics and your input ... much appreciated.

I will keep for a long time as it's really an investment so I wouldn't want a watch prone to scuffs :)

I do like the black bezel though but maybe will consider the silver one.

I have the Skyracer Raven and haven't had a problem with the rubber bezel. It's a thick rubber with an underlying SS bezel. The number markers are inlaid SS.

Unless Breitling has changed something, the Raven doesnt come on a steel bracelet. Rubber only.

Actually both the Skyracer and Airwolf Raven models are available with Pro II bracelets. I bought my Skyracer Raven on rubber, but have worn it on the ProII. It was in the disply case on the ProII. I'm pretty sure the website shows the ProII as an available option.

Man pull the trigger - ge tte Raven. It's a beautiful watch.

Um yep...youre completely right. For whatever reason I thought we were talking about a blacksteel here

How's the water resistance , depth on these watches ?
I hear they are not as good and you have to wash off after going in sea water ?

I've had my TAG and it looks as good as new even after ocean exposure

I haven't been in salt water with it. But it shouldn't be any different than a rubber strap. The Skyracer is rated at 660 ft.

Airwolf isn't really a water baby - rated at 50m.

In terms of salt water exposure, best advice for any watch is to wash with clean water after exposure to salt - nothing to do with a specific brand or model.

Well i didn't mean deep water diving but just surface swimming :)
I guess 50m is more than fine.
