. . . with 100 Years of Aviation and the Wright Brother's Flyer on the case-back? I am being offered a watch with that case-back, but it doesn't look like anything I've found. Thank you. |

I have only owned one Breitling in the past, a beautiful Headwind, and I claim no degree of expertise. As a matter of fact, chastising others for admitting limited knowledge seems a bit harsh . . . |

The real model is the Montbrillant 1903 / Hundred Years of Flight. |

The seller told me what was on the case-back, and when I ran searches, the only watches that came up were the Montbrillant 1903 100 Years of Aviation watches, and they're all two-register watches with the date at 6 o'clock. I've contacted the legal authorities in the seller's area - he made the mistake of claiming it came from an AD in Texas, which constitutes Simulation, which is legalese for Forgery . . . |

You were enough of an "expert" to ask here before you bought/accepted the watch. I've only been on watch forums a couple of months and I have already seen that it is heartbreakingly common to see someone ask for verification AFTER they have spent their money. Hope you stick around and talk watches with us. Peace Mike |

Hope you stick around and talk watches with us. Peace Mike Thank you for the welcome! I know my Omegas and Rolexes pretty well, but I find the proliferation of the Breitling line baffling. As I noted above, I have had one Breitling, an all steel Headwind with the blue dial, and it was one of the most striking watches I have ever owned - set up like a Rolex President with the day of the week at 12 o'clock, but must sportier than the Rolex. I'd like to add a Breitling to my collection but I'd have to immerse myself in the culture to learn enough to differentiate between the available ranges . . . |
