I have an Evolution series Breitling and recently I was attempting to advance the date. Pulling out the crown to position (2) the date advanced then stopped in between the next date. I wound the watch and then it advanced. Here is the problem, I began to set the date by pulling out the crown to position (3) and the date advanced but at 6:00 rather than 12:00.

What is going on? Does this need to be sent back. I've never experienced this before.

I'd be sending it in for repair. Is this a brand new watch from an AD?

Yes, let your AD have a look at it. If necessary, the warranty should take care of that. Good luck!

Send it in.

Fortunately, you're still under warranty. Let us know how you get on.

As a side note, this happened to a Tag of mine when I (in ignorance) tried to change the date too late at night / too close to its normal date change point. I left it till the next day and I was able to sort it out.
Could this be the case here ?

I'd still send it in. Best to get it looked at by the pros.

Absolutely send it in for checking over..I was just kind of curious if this sort of issue is caused by changing dates at the wrong time.

You're kind of right, ewen. Changing the date at the wrong time (that is, between 8 and 3) may if you're unfortunate cause damages to the date wheel/function. This shouldn't be new info - it's quite often mentioned on the forum and also several times in the manual (but on the other hand - no real man reads his manual...). If you're very lucky in your unfortunate situation I guess one might have "just" caused the wheels to a minor displacement which then slips back if you leave the movement on it's own. But the odds for that...
