Hi all,

I'm a long time lurker, but this is my first post. I'm about to plunk down the $$ for my first Breitling and I find myself torn between the Navi World and the SOHC LE. Thanks to Justin, I got great prices on both from George @ Govberg.

I've been lusting after the Navitimer for the longest time, and I always thought the Navi World would be my first Breitling. Thanks to this site, I've also fallen in love with the SOHC LE. I really love the Ocean Classic bracelet, and I like the idea of having a limited edition watch.

Truth be told, I'll probably end up going with the Navi World (likely blue dial on bracelet, with a brown calf strap to come later on). I'm wondering, however, if the Ocean Classic bracelet will fit the Navi World? Anyone have any experience with that?

Also, can you put a Calf or Croc strap on the SOHC LE? I've only ever seen pictures on the Ocean Classic or Ocean Racer.

I know the decision comes down to taste (and $$), but anyone have strong feelings about one watch over the other?

Thanks!

Steve

Sure you can put any leather strap on the SOHC. I have a black leather and croco for mine and they look great. It's a 24mm strap.

Hi there I have my SOHC on both calf and croc leather straps and it looks totally amazing!!!

It's not the LE but still love it.

I love the Navs, particularly the Datora however they're extremely allergic to water..... Which made me go for the SOHC instead for now.

Depends on what you do with your watches and whether this is an addition to a current watch which is water resistant.

Good luck I'm sure you will be more than happy with either as both are fantastic watches!!!!

Thanks for the replies about the SOHC. I don't dive, swim or even shower with my watch on, so that shouldn't be an issue. However, "extremely allergic" sounds scary to me. Does that mean I need to be concerned with washing my hands while wearing the watch?

And any ideas about the compatibility of the Ocean Classic bracelet on the Navi World?

You don't need to worry about washing your hands - it's still rated at 30M so hand washing is fine, showering isn't.

The Ocean Classic should fit as it is straight ended, the only potential problem that I see is the positioning of the holes in the lugs of the World. The virtually identical 'aero classic' was produced for the CM 49 so that is also an option.

Thanks, Roff. Since I've always wanted the Navi, I think I'm probably going to order the Navi World instead of the SOHC LE. I'll just have to put the SOHC (maybe not an LE) on my "next watch" list!

And thanks for the info about the aero classic. I like having options!
