Does this watch have the same 8pm to 3am issue as the other Breitlings except for the B01. And does anyone know price for this watch as yet.

On steel it is $3085. I am pretty sure that you have to be cautious not to set the date in that 8 to 3 range.

It has the Breitling Calibre 17 movement, same as the Steelfish, Seawolf, SOH, Colt Auto etc. So yes, it will have the same issue with not changing the date between those times.

Are you talking about the new 2010 model of the SO? With the color inserts?

Yes, the new one. The Breitling website calls it the "New Wave" Superocean but I have no idea if that's an official name.

In the brochure Breitling calls the new SO as "SuperOcean II".

The new wave superocean doesnt hold a candle to the IWC Aquatimer range. Thats the type of range that Breitling should be producing. The IWC Acquatimers are more Breitling than the new Breitlings except of course for the BO1 which is a sensational watch.

Any watch with a quickset date but without instant date change - so any quick set date equipped Breitling except Blackbird, 6.75, Cockpit and B01.

Yes, but pricewise they're not really in the same league, so it isn't a fair contest.

Its just my opinion but Breitling needs to go upmarket. People will always pay for a better product if they see the value in it and in terms of this specific market, people will know what they want and usually they will pay more at the top end.

Exactly. If what I've heard about the likely AUD price is correct, once it comes out here I could literally get two Superoceans for the cost of one Aquatimer.
