Hi all anyone got any experience of regulating a SOHC? I know there have been a number of threads but couldn't open the attachment.

Currently gaining within COSC so not a problem just looking to see if I can regulate it

You don't mean regulating it yourself I hope?

Ignoring knowledge / experience needs you would require a timing machine to measure for positional variations and a pressure tester for the caseback afterwards. Just take it to an AD and if the AD can't do it then take it to an AD for a different brand who will. Why so many Breitling ADs insist on having a watch sent to Breitling for regulation is beyond me.

Besides, if it's within COSC specs why would it need regulating?

Sorry Roff, that was the terminology used in another thread.

Basically some have mentioned that the way you position your watch over night can gain or lose a few seconds which can compensate for either a faster or slower watch....

Not making it 100% but meaning you have to adjust less often.

So face down or pushers down etc

Oh, OK.

If it's running fast try laying it on it's side crown up and see if that makes a difference - that will tend to slow it down slightly.

You can also make a little experiment out of it. Just set your watch to atomic time before you go to bed and lay the watch in a different position each night. The next morning just record how much time the watch has been lost/gained. You can have the information in your back pocket to keep from adjusting more often then you'd like.
