I was trying to decide between a Breitling Skyland Avenger and an Omega Planet Ocean (discussed in General Watch Discussion). I finally went ahead and pulled the trigger on this Skyland. I immediately put on the Ocean Racer strap that I previously bought. I love the way the black strap matches the dial (unlike the dial on my Steelfish, this one actually looks black) and the polished clasp matches the case and bezel. Look good, because it will be scratched up in no time. In fact, I already put a really good scratch between the lugs when changing to the Ocean Racer. Thanks to all that pushed me to get the Skyland, I'll pick up a PO later (maybe) ![]() ![]() |

Great watch and pic. Congratulations! Too bad about the scratch, but as it is between the lugs I hope you only see it when changing bands... |

I think the Avenger Skyland is one of the best watches by Breitling, The size is perfect not to big not to small. I would like to get a brown leather strap for mine. |

That Ocean Racer strap looks outstanding with the black dial! Excellent choice. I scored a Blacksteel this week, but my AD also had a Skyland Avenger with the black dial and Stainless steel bracelet. We actually discussed getting the Ocean Racer strap instead of the steel, and now that I see your excellent photo, I know that would be the way to go! I cannot get over how outstanding that combination is, especially with Ocean Racer clasp. I actually, in this instance, like that better than the stainless bracelet. I do like the Diver Pro strap on my Blacksteel, and would love to get the Ocean Racer. The only problem is, the clasp on the Diver Pro is also in Black Steel to match the watch. This watch is the ultimate to me, but the only improvement I could see would be if they had done it with the Ocean Racer, and done the clasp to match. Enjoy the new Skyland! Cheers, Carl |

Ross that is a great photo! I am really starting to like that rubber strap.. more and more, and it has a lot to do with the photo you sent!... This Ocean Racer might be the Rubber strap that finally makes it onto my wrist for a while! |

Agreed. I think the Ocean Racer is much nicer than the old diver's strap. And the clasp is pretty cool too, and much like deployants on leather, it should make the strap last longer too. Excellent! |

I'm glad you like the photo, I'm still working out the bugs in my digital photo setup. I just gotta remember, it's all in the lighting... I wore the watch all day over the last 2 days and I love it. The tool-free adjustment in the clasp is terrific, I don't know why more don't have it. When I first put the watch on, it was hot and the watch fit just right. The next morning, however, was relatively cool and the watch was a little too loose. I just popped the watch off, pushed the strap in a couple of clicks and it fit perfectly again. The only problem is the price. I thought my Sinn U-Series rubber was expensive at $130, the Ocean Racer cost me $350. Maybe if I sold the Pro II that came with the watch I'd be in good shape, but I'm keeping the bracelet in case I want to switch back. Maybe for some, the price is not a factor, but it was a big decision for me, though I am happy with the outcome. |

Exactly how does that rubber clasp work? Does anyone have some explaining pics? Could be interesting to see... |
