Post subject:  First Time Breitling Owner with a Quick Question!

Hey guys. I just purchased a Navitimer and had a quick question about the watch. Whenever I move my hand or wrist, I can sometimes feel the watch move like it is alive or something. I guess it looks and feels pretty cool when it does it, but is this suppose to happen? I googled about it and it says it had something to do with the self winding mechanism and is normal?

Might I add that this watch is awesome so far. I was reading through the instruction manual and apparently the little second hand with the red arrow isn't suppose to move unless you start the timer, but I just run it anyway because I think it looks better. I am amazed at how accurate this watch is as the second hand moves in perfect conjunction with the little subdial that measures seconds. Impressive for a mechanical watch if you ask me. But anyways, is that movement I mentioned earlier normal?

You see the half moon shaped rotor with Breitling written on it. Thats the part you can feel moving within the watch as it winds the mainspring with wrist movement. Some mechanicals this is more pronounced than others.

that shouldnt happen, your watch is possessed and because of that ill buy it off you for half!!! j/k as said its the rotor spinning. I often find myself watching my watch to see it move too.

First Thing Welcome to the Forum & to Navitimers!

Secondly, it is perfectly normal & you should get many years of enjoyment out of your watch.

I think Navitimers are very classy, sexy, hot - well you get the idea lmao

Best Regards,

Enezdez

Google "valjoux wobble" for more info on it. In short, yes, its very normal.
