Recently I was debating between the navitimer world and chronomat. I ended up ordering the navitimer world because I figured it would be my last breitling for a while and that it was satisfy all of my breitling needs because of its class and the fact of how iconic it is. Some pros navi were the dial details, slim bezel, and size of the piece. Some pros to the chronomat were the versatility of the watch (sports, dress, casual), the robustness and the subtleness of a more simple dial. My question to you is did I make the right decision? Which one do you find more iconic?

I know the polls http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=17426 show the chronomat ahead. I know it comes down to personal choice but to be honest I can only find pros in the watches with very few flaws, I like them both equally.

Thanks for hearing me out, my wife is tired of listening to me talk about this!

I think both the classic Navitimer and the Chronomat are more iconic than the Navitimer World. But the Navi World is so damn good looking 8) If I could pull it off, I'd definitely get the Navi World over the Chronomat.

Chronomat all the way. You mentioned the versatility which is a huge plus. I really like the durability - they are built like a tank. Navis are very nice also, but they come with too many rules…..don’t get them wet, don’t bump them into things, etc. I’m not hard on watches, but I don’t want to worry either.

You definitely made the right choice because it was the one you decided suited your needs better.

If it were my choice between the two, id have gone for the World as well. Im a huge fan of navitimers on leather. As beautiful as the bracelet is, ive never worn mine since I prefer the leather. The small links on the navi just dont suit me for some reason. I have the same issue with the chronomat. Both beautiful bracelets, but just not for me.

Both are great looking watches, so can't really go "wrong", no matter which you cho(o)se. Personally I like the look of Chronomat more, especially the version with the Roman numerals.

You said it " personal choice "
I feel the same way as errolO_7 except, I love all the Navitimers and Chronos are my least favorite...I don't think either one of us is wrong :lingsrock: both are great watches, lately I have been really digging the Bentleys it took awhile but now I think the GT is about as nice a watch you can get. I probably would like more Bentleys if they made more of them in the 44mm range. 48-49mm just too big for me, personally.
I hear they have a 52mm coming out...thats sick !

Im kinda torn on choosing, as I own both. If I had to choose I would probably lean towards the Chronomat, just because of the water resistance. I love both but the lack of being water tight is a slight concern on my Navi World. Its not that I am a diver or swim all that often but the fact that I couldnt just "jump right in" is a little restricting. For example, I love Hawaii and hope to return maybe this year. Although I like to mix up the watch rotation, I wont be taking the Navi with me just because it couldnt be worn if there is even the slight chance of forgetting about it when approaching the surf or occational waterfall!

And you hopefully won't have to wait much longer. I'm glad you chose the model that suited your needs more.

I personally prefer the navitimer over the two as it just such a classic iconic watch but now that I have one I'm eyeing off a Chronomat or Blackbird for the versatility. Both are hugely popular.
