Did it today! I phoned my AD this morning from work, and asked him to hold the watch for me. Just came home after picking it up after work. I saw this one on Saturday and have been pondering it since. It was still there today, so I thought that meant I should have it. This is the second one they got in, the first a couple of months ago. They had ordered 2, but were pretty sure they wouldn't receive the second one. They were just as surprised as I was when I saw it in the window. :o
This is awesome! I feel like a 58-year-old kid. The more I look at it and pick it up, the more it grows on me. I did a lot of research on this one, reading all I could on this and other forums from other owners, and a couple of PM's as well. This is not some cheap coating. It is probably the most durable Breitling I will ever see. Now that I have it and have read other reviews, I have no doubt in my mind that it is the most rugged watch I will ever own. I get the feeling this in not meant to be babied! I will be wearing it a lot, and to work, where I work with a lot of machinery. I am amazed that it took so long for it to grow on me!
Well, that's a Steelfish and Blacksteel in 3 weeks, it really is time to stop now!
I just noticed the back is not polished like the others, it is actually brushed. The "Edition Limitee 1166/2000" is etched very discreetly in black. The subtle use of red on the hands of the subdials and the numbers up the side around the dial is a great touch. The stencilled white numerals and large white hands with the white date background make an incredible and very legible contrast.
I know that I did have my doubts about this watch at the beginning. In all honesty, when I saw it on the Breitling website, I never thought I would even see one, let alone own one. I now have absolutely no doubt that I made the right choice, and would not hesitate to recommend this model to anyone who is lucky enough to get their hands on one.
The fact that I will be eating beans for the next year or so is absolutely superfluous!
Thanks to all of you once again who have provided me with answers to my countless questions and given me details about the watch that I did not know about.
Now I can't even afford a camera to take pics of this beauty!
Cheers,
Carl :canada

Congratulations, Carl! Nice move!

I guess you'll have to borrow a friends camera then, so you can show us the beauty!

Absolutely gorgeous, Carl! Congratulations and wear it in good health! :D Our friend Davey Vermaak in the U.K. has one also and has attached a wonderfully contrasting strap to it you might consider. Below is his pic of his BlackSteel... 8)
Cheers,

Stop it Carl! I can't stand peer pressure. It's funny, I have sure been attracted to this particular watch lately also. Seems like a great rugged, do anything you want to it kind of watch. This watch screams "BAD".
Beans aren't so bad....................if you don't plan on making new friends anytime soon. Seriously, congratulations on that rare find.

That's a great look, too. Especially with the red stitching. I was thinking that a black leather like Colsman (also on this forum with Blacksteel), would be an great look he has some pics posted in the Gallery. He dyed the white stitching, and it looks great. I would think the black with white stitching would look good also, with the white numerals and hands on the dial?
Cheers,
Carl
