Post subject: | Looking to buy a new Breitling and sell my old one |
Hi all, First time poster but long time reader of the forum. I currently have a Chrono Colt which I bought in February '09. At the time I wasn't planning on wearing it everyday, I was planning to save it for best (hence the reason I got a quartz). But as you all know, it is hard not to wear them all the time! I am now looking to buy an automatic Ling as I wish I had bought one in the first place. Only problem is I have quite small wrists - 6.5" so this limits what I can wear without the watch looking massive. Ideally I would like a Steelfish. Question is would this look too big on my wrist? Have others got a similar size wrists and wear this watch or the same size watch? (Ps. I havent had time to get to my AD to try one on yet - thought i'd ask here in the meantime) Plus, I would be selling my Chrono Colt (on a pro 2) once I have got a new watch because I probably wont wear it again. Is there any interest in this watch? How much could I expect to get for it? Its in 9/10 condition, all boxes, papers etc. Includes 2 Breitling leather straps and 1 Breitling rubber strap. I'll put an advert up in the sales forum when I know what to ask for it. Thanks, Mike |

You can probably pull off a Steelfish just fine. Even though it's 44mm, it doesn't wear that size in my opinion. As far as selling the Chrono Colt, I wouldn't expect more than $1500 for it even with the extra straps. |

I have a 6.5 inch wrist, and I used to have a Steelfish. It wore just fine, if anything it could have been bigger. I agree with the others, the Steelfish wears small for a 44mm watch. |

Thanks everyone. I'm going to have a look around at the weekend and see if I can get a good deal. I'll put my Colt up for sale in the buy/trade section for anyone who wants it |

Why not try a pre-owned Ling......something like a Blue Dial Chronomat on Pilot bracelet.....classic Breitling ![]() |

I have a cca. 6.6 inch wrist, and I have a Colt II Quartz and a B-1. Both fits me fine, but the Colt is more comfortable due to its smaller size and less weight. I've tried a SuperOcean (42mm) on, it fitted me very well, but its weight was a bit excessive. I've also tried a Steelfish (44mm) on, it wears a lot smaller than its size would suggest, but its weight seemed simply too much for me. In other words, the Steelfish would fit you size-wise just right, but may not fit you well weight-wise. |

I think the Steelfish's small dial makes the case look big. If you were still interested in a chrono, perhaps the Chrono SuperOcean automatic would be suitable at 42mm? |
