Dome shaped push buttons and crown inspired by prop hubs:

Really? haha.. I did read that the Windrider series of watches (not the current ones, but the last ones) got their case shape from the something to do with the wing shape of airplanes.

No... don't have the article handy. However, it was not the side view that you showed in your pictures, but the case shape in the view when looking at the front (dial) of the watch turned on its side... so crown facing up/down.
