Dear all

I cannot see any wrist shots nor any interest in the Superocean GMT. Probably it's the style compared to the pricing. What's the target group, the core customer for this type of model? Why is it such a slow seller? Maybe it's no slow seller at all in the Eastern Asias?

Is it because it looks quite youth-oriented (basic look) whereas the pricing is just too high? Is it because of the integrated bracelet/rubber strap?

Probably it will be discontinued soon, resp. there might be a redesign, because Breitling require a 2nd timezone-watch, don't they?

Best regards, V.

In general, most forum participants here are not very enthusiastic about the rubber coated bezels. Although myself I like the new superocean line I'm not sure if I should also like this specific model. To me it seems a bit awkward to have a 24 hour division on the bezel of a diving watch. And I don't espacially like the circular flowing rills on the dial... But I would have to try one on and to see for myself to make up my mind.

OK, interesting comments. Apart from the rubber bezel being a disputive issue, is the coating durable in the long term?

I actually think it is a nice looking piece, very readable, size is good and you get a third timezone function (if that is what your into).

The rubber bezel is not an issue for me, some don't like it.

I think the biggest drawback from folks on here is the integrated bracelet. People like to have the option of swapping straps/bracelets on the Breitling pieces.

I really like the GMT concept on most ever watch that has it. So-so on the newer SO design I go back and forth wanting/liking the yellow and LE orange but as Kodiak said the integrated bracelet is a deal breaker, at least for me.

I've got a SO Chrono ll which I wear every day (for about 18 months now) and it shows no signs of aging. Seems quite durable to me so far.

OK, thanks guys. Well, the thing is highly readable, no fuss, no bling and no additional stories written on the dial. That's the good things, and yes, the third time zone is a great function. It's sad that there are no wrist shots around, I would be happy to see a silver dial. Of course, most ADs don't have this model on stock...

I saw the silver dial in the watch department at Harrods while on vacation. It was nice, I have a silver faced Colt GMT so a similar dial, which I like obviously.

However, I am also not as enthusiastic about the rubber bezel models as some. I still like it though, just maybe for the right price as opposed to wanting it no matter what.

Also saw the white version as well, not a big fan of that one with the white rubber strap, didn't seem like a men's watch. My wife actually commented on how "pretty" it looked.

Thank you for your impressions. Well, I am a lover of my Colt Auto II with silver dial, we share the same taste. The white version is - according to my guess - definitely a women's model.

From what I have seen, the price is about the same as an Avenger II GMT, which from my perspective is a better watch for a similar amount of money.

Hi vorollo,

There seems to be enough Super Ocean models in the range to please just about everyone, I would think. So, if one seems to be less favoured over the others then I can understand it. If that’s the case. Perhaps few can see the benefit of a GMT model and opt for the 42 or 44 instead.

If I were considering one, I would prefer a Chronograph. But that’s me. So perhaps the Chronograph II or the M2000. Budget is important and the Chronograph is not for everyone in the Dive Watch market.
