DAMN!! That's what happens when you get a Largess watch like the Super Avenger... it hits everything. One way to prevent that is to wear your sleeve OVER the watch so it insulates it. I have saved many a Crystal using this method :thumbsup:

Understood Admin.... but is so hard to be PIMPTASTICK with a sleeve covering a big bad A$$ like the SA! I actually only take my watch off to shower so the abuse is magnified because of the extreme wear time.

This is true. Pimptastik Factor is significantly lessened when the watch is covered. I usually remove my watch when at home since one of the first things I do when I come home is cook... I dont like wearing my watch when I cook.

I see your point for sure. I think the fact that my SA is my only high end watch is really keeping it on my wrist more than normal. Im going to go work on my parents new house tomorrow so I think I will wear the Rousseau I posted pics of instead of the SA.

chance - geez. I feel your pain bro. Is there a way to buff it out at least or thats a lost cause?

I got the same way when my mechanic stratched my rim when putting on a new tire....3500k rims couldnt sleep for days but then I got over it.

Hope theres a way to "fix" it...I guess rule of thumb only wear it when you are wearing a long sleeve but then again....the SA screams out for attention so thatll be tough to do mate...Good luck...

Chance - really sorry for you. That was not a nice scratch... But as you say, some polishing will hopefully take care of it. By the way, why do you remove the SA in the shower? It is showerproof...

For that scratch You polish for hours!
The surface will never be like original again.
Sorry to say that, You might as well leave the scratch as a natural proof of wearing.

that is a wicked scratch, that sucks man. i'm wondering what caused that since it looks like the bezel is ok and the lines of the scratch are so relatively straight. that really sucks though. thomas if he has it professionally polished out, would it be okay again?

Celebrate that scratch! It makes your watch *yours*. No watch ever got scratched like that sitting on a winder. It means you were wearing it, and enjoying it.

I understand resale value, but the only thing I ever bought with the intention of reselling is shares of stock. I'm sure I'll take a beating for this, but who wants to pass down a watch to their son/grandson that looks brand new? It should have some character, and some stories behind it.

The only bad part about it is there's not a cool story behind that scratch, so you might have to make something up. Tell everyone you fought off a mugger who had a tire iron or something ;)

The first scratch always pisses you off.

Luckily, you'll be able to get it out with a little Dremel action. Just be careful using the tool near the crystal. I had a small scratch appear on my Submariner and it is no longer there after about 15 minutes on the ol' Dremel.

Aww man, that's a nasty one. I feel for you matey! I hate scratches with a passion, so I don't blame you for being pissed. I tend to do what Admin does and wear a long sleeve over my Breitlings. I know this tends to be a bit of a shame as they are great to see, but scracthes do my head in.

I reckon you'll be able to minimise the appearance of that scratch with a hefty bit of polishing, but "factory finish" may be a little hard to achieve. Hope it comes out OK.

There are some pretty coarse compounds out there to get that out, but it will take some work. I didn't see the severity this morning when I first looked at the photo.

a real pimp shouldn't have to flash his timepiece around just for status. if it slides from under the sleeve, then it does. but don't wear short sleeves on purpose just to show off that you have a better watch. the people who really care will know. the edges of that scratch will smooth itself out in time. it may still be visible, but it will grow onto you if you don't touch it. actually you won't even think about it after a couple of weeks.

my beater is a bulova and all it's scratches have somewhat almost disappeared.

hey, if you really wanna cover that up the pimp way, just slap a couple diamonds over it. :idea:
