As I posted in my Intro post, I was planning on picking up a Blackbird for my first Breitling, however I was knocked off course by a deal I couldn't pass up. I came across a guy selling a blue SOH in 46mm on watchuseek.com. This is the watch that first got me to look at Breitling at an AD, it is the color I wanted on the bracelet. He had plenty of references, good pics and I was able to negotiate a decent price. The watch has all the papers, serial numbers and was purchased at an AD in November. The only downside was some light swirls on the clasp according to the seller. Anyway, I did the deal and the watch arrived today, the swirls polished right out with my dremel and it looks gorgeous. I posted pictures in the gallery, but here's a teaser:

I am officially a Breitling owner, my wife really likes it too and is hinting that she might like the same watch in 38mm.

Fabulous looking watch. Breitling makes the most attractive of that type. A lot of people compare the SOH to types of Omegas and Rolexes. Having looked at them as well, I think the Breitling is the classiest and best finished. I would have a hard time deciding on the colour - definitely the bracelet you have - blue or bronze for a change, although the black looks awesome as well. Enjoy it in good health!
Cheers,
Carl

Very nice purchase, congratulations! And the wife of yours sounds like a very pleasant and understanding woman with good taste. I bet she's a keeper! ;)

Cracking watch.....health to wear it!

Beware however, I wanted an emergency for my first ling but got sidetracked and ended up with the most astounding super avenger (black on bracelet) , I now have to get the emergency to go with it so you'd better put that blackbird on the 'wanted' list...just under the SOH 38mm

You are right, it makes it much easier when the UPS man shows up if it's for her sometimes...

She is, we've been together for 18 years and married for 16 of that. She likes her horses, and I like watches and guitars so we both have expensive hobbies. I try and buy my stuff pre-owned to keep the costs down but I did buy her a new Rolex for christmas.

Congrats on a beautiful watch and welcome to the club!

Oh yes, looking forward to seeing the pictures of the Blackbird  the Breitling addition is a strong one.

I realise I am quoting myself, just pointing out that if you guys with Blackbirds are ready to start flipping your watches, I'm here for you.

Just trying to be helpful.
