Hey everyone. I went and visited an AD today. I was originally in to take a look at a Silver Dial Steelfish and he had a Navi Cosmo at 40% off. I kind of liked it. I was wondering if that was a good deal or not and what everyones thoughts were on one vs the other. I love them both and dont want to choose ![]() |

The Cossie is nice, and 40& off is great, but I dont know how to read a 24hr. dial ![]() Get whichever one you like more. Ignore the price. |

They are very diff beasts as rj says ignore price only buy it if u love it the fish is great it can get wet, it doesn't have a chrono, it's a dive watch essentially the cosmo, Reading a 24 hr dial is intuative took me a few mins to pick up and I can swap back to normal dials and never have an issue hardest part is telling the specific min cosmo like all navis is allergic to more that a splash of water, the dial is very busy but it's one of the best watches breitling make IMO For completeness I own a cosmo but not a fish, altho might have an opportunity to get a uniqe one soon that I won't pass up |

I own both the Steelfish and the Cosmo. As Alex** said they are two very different watches. My steelfish is my all around watch and my daily wearer. I like the versatility of it. The combo brushed/polished finished is understated and doesn't jump out at you and scream "look at me" which can be useful in the business climate. The size at 44mm however provides enough wrist presence so as not to be completely ignored. It's dial, without being encumbered with subdials or chrono hands makes for extreme readibility which is a big plus in my book. The versatility of the watch in regard to strap/bracelet availability from the Pro ll to the Diver Pro and leather/croc straps make it even more functional. You can go from understated, muted elegance in the board room on Friday morning with the Pro ll to a flight to the Caribbean on Friday night with the Diver Pro attached and feel just at home with it while watching swaying palm trees and swimming in beautiful turquois waters. Now the Cosmo is a different animal altogether. Noticeably smaller in diameter at 41.5mm and thinner as well as compared to the fish it has an entirely different feel on you wrist. It sits lower on your wrist, works much better with long sleeved shirts and is less prone to accidental beatings against door facings etc. ![]() I would suggest thinking about your lifestyle and in what climate/environment you will use the watch the most. Go back to the AD and try them on again. One will speak to you. Good luck, Elwyn |
