So I got my superocean heritage 46 w/ black dial on the bracelet.
Absolutly love it... caught my attention months ago when I saw it in a magazine... so happy to finally get it.

Now that I'm wearing it I've suddenly become a bit worried about theft/damage that could occur to it as its a lot of money to wear on your wrist. I was wondering if anyone knew of any companies in the UK that offer insurance on single items. Rent at the moment so don't have house insurance to put it onto. Google hasn't really turned up anyone that will insure over 1000 pounds, might be a last resort if I can't find anything else.

If anyone knows anything I would really appreciate it. Also, thanks to everyone who awnsered many of my questions prior to buying the watch... Was a large purchace for me but I have no regrets and am very happy with it.

Cheers!

I've been thinking of this too, but havent got very far as I keep forgetting.
I was going to ring Ernest Jones as they are one company that do a jewellry insurance policy. Be interesting just to get a guide.

I've no idea how pricey it is.

I am a renter myself. I have renter's insurance, which covers all of my belongings in the event of a theft, fire, or other disaster. You can negotiate the terms of your coverage, and you pay for what you get. For example, my insurer offers low rate plans for 10 USD/month that cover damages of 10,000 USD. Additional coverage can be purchased at an additional cost.

I am based in MD. Similar plans are available throughout the states. Do they have similar insurance for renters in Europe? If so, you could cover your Breitling, and the rest of your possessions, through such a program.

I just took a copy of my appraisal to my home ins. guy and he added it to my policy. It is $53 usd per year for total coverage if ANYTHING happens.

This has come up a couple of times before, and from what I remember there is a huge variation from country to country and insurer to insurer.

My house insurance policy covers all contents up to a certain dollar value (total) where that value is a % of the amount that the building is insured for at no extra cost. The only caveat is that all items over $1,000 have to be listed separately.

That's a great deal there Chance! I spoke to my insurers (in a hypothetical way of course! ) and it was some ridiculous figure they quoted me. May shop around a little nearer renewal time.

As someone else mentioned, Ernest Jones should do the job, what about the AD you bought it from, they might know somewhere?

Oops! I've just amended my original post for the sake of it! Can't have you two Adonises (or is that Adoni?) getting mixed up now can we! :nutkick:

PS - I think it was the similarity of you two gents' avatars. Soz!
