Hi guys,
last week I wore my chronomat evolution for the first time in a while. When trying to set the time i accedently changed the date by one click/day (the time was 8:15 pm) I thought the crown was in time changing position but obviously it was'nt.
when i realized what I was doing I put the crown to the correct position and set the time to a safe 6:00 am before setting the correct date....On top of that I pushed the chrono pusher to get the sweep hand into action while in the setting time mode.. The sweep hand didnt move...I then realized that I need to push the crown in and once the watch began running normally, pushed the chrono pusher again and it ran like it should..
Ofcourse Im wondering how bad this small succession of mistakes can be...or is the watch able to take these small mistakes...
I have also noticed that the date changes over before midnight..around 11:52 to be exact...is this normal for this movement???

Well that's it then.

You aren't qualified to own a Breitling so send it back.

The chronograph thing is no big deal. The mechanism is completely separate from the keyless works that controls the adjustments and is operated by the crown stem.

The date changing at 11:52 is normal - they do tend to vary by a few minutes.

In terms of the quick set date, that's a theoretical problem, but Breitling build a safety margin into the 8pm - 3am window - generally speaking the partial engagement of the date change wheel is closer to 9pm - 2am, so you should be fine at 8:15pm.

Just don't do it again :lol:

thanks for easing my concerns!

Now i'll enjoy the rest of the evening with my Aerospace which came back from Breitling today after a service :D :D :D :D

Interesting..........My AD never told me about the time restriction when setting the date. I had to find it here. Great job thanks. So if I have to set the date I should set it after 3:00am but before 8:00pm (local)?

Correct. That's the time on your watch - really doesn't matter if it's local time or otherwise. The watch doesn't know the difference. If ever in doubt, rotate time forward past midnight and watch the date change. Then you can be certain if it's am or pm.

It sounds pretty obvious, but I remember a post from somebody who was wondering if the window was for actual time or the time on the watch :lol:
