Is it correct that this function was not available in the yellow dialed models?

Was it available in all of the other dials?

Or were there some with the function and some without in all models?

A sales add has brought this to my attention. I just picked one up (white dialed, thanks d) and I actually have used the regatta function...granted to time some food on the bbq  , but still.

There was a limited edition "Team LEB" Volvo (something like that) that was yellow and had the Regatta. I think that was the only way to get yellow/regatta.

Yes, the regatta countdown was NOT available on the standard yellow dial model. If I recall correctly (and not having my Chronologs to hand I can't check), but I think it was also not available on one of the other colours too - black, white or blue. I'm sure that two had it, and two didn't.

However I know for a FACT that the yellow definitely didn't because I owned one for a very short period of time.

Apart from what you see on the dial, the case back has an engraving "xxx/100" so I guess its fairly limited :D

It came from Germany, but I never found out why its a Speciale

I'm guessing that the regatta countdown is what makes it an LE. It's unusual to see a numbered LE with serie speciale, it's usually serie limitee. The only one I knew of was the previously mentioned Team Volvo SEB sailing one.

According to my 08 chronolog, at least the pictures, the grey and the yellow dialed M1's did not have the regatta countdown markings.

But does that mean that you could not retard the minute counter like you can with the ones with the regatta markings? Also, I noticed that you don't have to set it to 10 minutes, you can set it to whatever you want.
