Post subject:  Thinking about purchasing a Heritage Chronographe

Greetings. Just need some opinions/advice on my next Breitling purchase. I'm really interested in the black SuperOcean Heritage Chronographe. I wasn't that much of a fan of this line in the past but now I feel its a thing of beauty and I'm not sure why. One eye catcher for me is the amount of black on this watch, especially on the bezel. And of course anything looks good on an OceanRacer strap. I also think the black dial would look great on a brown leather strap too but I haven't seen that combo on any of the forums. I plan to make a purchase sometime in March. Any opinions/pics would be greatly appreciated. I don't have any specific questions or concerns, I just want to know if there are any other fans of this watch. thanks in advance.

Huge fan. I have a black non chrono version. Don't think twice and go for it.

Because the dial isn't a dogs breakfast of different fonts and completely cluttered?. The beauty of this beast is its simplicity and retro design cues (i'm an old school Breitling fan mainly of the 1960's models especially Toptime range). I have the black SOHC on mesh. Buy this watch and you won't regret it.

They still couldn't resist putting a load of guff in the middle of the dial though. All it should have is the applied gold 'B' and 'Superocean' script - nothing else. Then it would be perfect. The only thing that would trump it would be a sunburst silver dial.

I too think its the gold B sittin' on top of the black dial that does it for me! Has anyone seen a black SOHC on a brown leather strap?

I love everything about this watch. I have the silver dial LE version on the mesh bracelet and just picked up the blue dial LE version last night on the Ocean Racer strap. I am also going to consider the black chrono you favor as well as the LE version with the black dial. All around it's an amazing watch! Here's the link to my silver version:

I'd prefer a smaller version (as posted earlier), say 40-41 mm and this version should have the day-date window of the Valjoux 7750. I'd go for the blue version :) A Pilot-like bracelet with a double-pusher clasp of the Ocean Racer would make this piece a perfect all-rounder for me.
If your wrist fits under a 46 mm watch: go for the SOHC, won't regret it!
Enjoy!
Best, Robertus
