Post subject:  Pilot bracelet...polishing

Hi,
I was looking at a cockpit on a pilot bracelet and noticed something odd about the finish on the bracelet.

The inside surface of the clasp was not polished, and the inside of the folding lock was also left unpolished.

This was in an AD so surely must be genuine... but i was under the understanding that these parts were polished??

Can someone who owns a pilot please just have a look at the inside to check... I am curious to find out.

regards

i could also see the stamping on the inside of the clasp...
...as stated on breitlingsource's review of a replica chronomat evo here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-uEIgz3x9tU

how could this AD have a fake bracelet?

None of the undersides of the bracelet components are polished.

This is the underside of a genuine Pro II bracelet for a Colt Auto II made in 2006. You can clearly see the "Breitling" and the "1884" stamp show through. I think sometime in 2007 they added a matte or shot peened finish to these clasp areas, which eliminated most of the reverse imprint.
