Less water resistant than the Herc or B2 that you asked about, but still a fine daily wearer that won't fall apart if it gets wet when you wash your hands! Some people swim in them too, but I'd go a bit careful as they are only 50m WR.

This one is a little different to the Herc and B2 in as much as it's quartz, and there is some discussion about the availability of spare parts in 10, 20 or 30 years. I believe that Breitling have committed to holding spares for their quartz models for a number of years, but even so there will come a time (20, 30 or 40 years?) when technology moves on and quartz spares will be hard to come by. Mechanical movements will always be able to be serviced.

Exactly Roff, plus I'd like to believe that "deep down" Breitling will continue to service the B1 after that should it need it.
The B1 is fast becoming a Breitling ICON.

I've no worries about handing mine down to the next generation,

I have watches that are still running accurately 150 years after they were made. The problem with quartz will always be that parts are unique and hard to manufacture. We simply don't know whether current leading edge quartz technology will be so obsolete that only NOS components are available 20 years from now.
