Hey guys,

I'm interested in trading a watch with someone and am not sure how to approach the situation.

What is the best way to trade? How do you guys regulate your trades to protect yourself?

Also, i'm in Canada and the trader is in the US. Anyone with experience doing CAN/US trades?

Thanks

I would be extremely cautious when trading. I would make sure that other person has plenty of recent references that check out. Unfortunately, there is a very low safeguards and avenues for help if something goes sideways. I feel like I read about trades gone bad all the time TRF, WUS, etc.

Unless it's someone you know well, I would not do it.

I would only trade through a trusted intermediary unless I felt I knew the person well enough (eg long time members here etc...). Just my opinion :lingsrock:

:yeahthat

After checking references etc I'd also at least attempt to speak to them over the phone. A reasonable request and at least you've made some form of personal contact. Payment via a resource such as paypal can also provide confidence as at least you have an avenue for action if things do go wrong.

Good luck!

All been said by the other guys, but I just want to agree with them and say that face to face is always the best bet when it comes to trades. Internet/inter-continental trades are an absolute god-send for the more unscrupulous people of the world. Personally I'd ban trades of that kind if I could...... but likewise there are a few guys here who have done OK out of them.

My advice - read a few trade posts on here (the good and bad ones) and then if you still fancy it proceed with the utmost caution.
