Happy holidays all! I am about to pull the trigger on a new SA and I'm torn between the black dial with baton markers and the white dial with the baton markers. Can you guys give me the pros and cons of each and your personal opinions of the two. I've seen countless white baton marker SA's on here and hardly any black dials. I personally think the white looks bigger, cleaner and a tad bit classier but the black is very alluring in it's own right and black straps would go nicely with it. I have a silver dial Montbrillant Legende that can often times appear to be white dialed depending on the lighting. Anyhow, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated as I'll be placing the order with my AD today or tomorrow. Much thanks in advance. Oh, pics of the black dial baton marker SA are greatly welcomed and appreciated!

I like the black dial, I think it's just a bit more understated and versatile than than the white. Definitely with you on the batons, I think they look neater - probably has something to do with the matching subdials on the black version. Black would make a nice contrast to your Legende too.

Disclaimer - out of the 8 watches I have going at the moment, 7 of them have a black dial. I just like it

THATS FUNNY. i am the oposite way, i have all white/silver faces with only one black, and thats my blacksteel.

i like the white, its clean and looks bigger, and the watches with the white ring inside, like a 6.75 it smoother.

Well, The white is nice, and looks bigger, but the black IMO looks a little more elegant. I had the same dilemma so I compromised with a little white with blue. If this was your first Breitling, I'd say go with the black. I think it's more universal and will go with anything. However since you have a few already, thte white would be my choice. Wear it when you want to get noticed. Make sure we see some pics when you get it!

Definitely the black baton imho. Here's a pic of mine, "The King of Lings" on "The King of Fruits"...

Especially since u already have a silver Navi -- in a side-by-side comparison, the white baton SA will look too plain!

And with a simple black Croc (or even better, a Horn Back!), the black baton easily transforms from super-macho to super-dressy!

At the end though, I really think you can't go wrong w either! :lingsrock:

I had exactly the same dilemma in november 09 and i went with the black baton dial and pro2. I am very happy with the choice.
Ordering my new croco strap one of these days. :)

(H2F; Please explain what a "hornback" is.)

Both are killer. White is definitely way more noticeable, so if you want to keep it subdued get black. But white is sexiest :)

Guys, I truly appreciate and value all of your feedback! Each of you has articulated your points thoroughly and I can relate to each of you on just about all of your points, lol. I have several black dial watches, Cartier Roadster, Bvlgari, etc but none of them is a Breitling Super Avenger, that's for sure. I am a big, muscular guy so I get noticed on my own, the watches just add to the sexy, lol. In all seriousness, you all are such a help but also make it so much harder to make my decision, lol. I am going to run to a nearby AD and try them both on again before rendering my final verdict! I will reveal my decision with the pics!!!!!!! Thanks again Breitling family.

Was going to buy one from a local strap maker in Singapore, unfortunately his price has gone up 30% from a year ago  & no "local pickup" credit (his prices "shipped to US"). But quite a few other mfr, just check for sale threads.
