Post subject:  Newbie's 1st Breitling

I recently treated myself to a Breitling. After much reading here and other sites, I decided on the Airwolf (pin-stripe dial).

I received the beauty today and it has not left my wrist........ (and when it does, I will take some photos).

Everything is as I expected except for one thing which I have only noticed now and I seek your views. The bezel compass North marker (denoted by an inverted triangle) does not line up with the red '60' on the slid rule. So, if I line up North (triangle) at 12 o'clock, the red '60' marker is at 4 o'clock. In other words, if I line up the red '60' at 12 o'clock, the North triangle is at 8 o'clock.

Most marketing shots of the Airwolf shows all these three lined up at 12 o'clock. So I went on a search for more pictures and I have seen some Airwolfs with these three not lined up. I'd appreciate your thoughts/comments.

Thx.

Originated from a Breitling AD in NJ, USA.

It's a 'feature'. The gearing of the inner bezel is slightly different from the gearing of the outer bezel so the alignment is not going to be perfect. If you rotate the bezel enough then you can get the alignment back - something for a month when you have nothing better to do

Could have aligned the bezel, honestly

Not sure how much you've played with it, but if you rotate the bezel, see how the outer slide rule scale turns quicker than the bezel. Think its geared something like 1.3:1
