Today I had to leave a warranty to sales person at the only AD in my city.
They need it to order a Diver ProII and one extra buckle.
Their explanation was that Breitling requires it for ordering any genuine part.
Puke emoticon, please.

This seems to be happening with more frequency of late. My only theory is that Breitling doesn't want authentic parts on fakes, thereby making the authentication process that much more difficult.

You're not alone. :)

I can understand that, but the sales person couldn't authenticate it on the spot and I had to leave the warranty at the AD.
It's a big AD, but his staff is the most incompetent.
Can anyone confirm that tang buckle is 25€ and Diver Pro II with the tang buckle 75€?
I'm almost sure that it is, but just wanted to re-check, because here there are no prices in the chronologs in my banana country.

one would think that since they were the AD that they would be able to authenticate on the spot. i would be irritated as well

I can't verify european prices, but you are at the right ballpark at least. Tha tang buckle should be somewhere in the 20-25€ range (depending on how I translate the exchange rate) and the DPII alone should be around 50€. At least they're not screwing you.

I'm thinking this might be new Breitling policy. Last week when I called Breitling Asia HQ in Singapore to ask prices & wether the deployants for 24mm & 22mm (the buckle itself) are the same size & interchangeable, she said I MUST bring in the watch to purchase the corresponding strap & buckle. I.e., I cannot be wearing only my EM to buy SA strap & vice versa.

You mean that in the UK you have to pay the same amount regardless if you're buying the tang buckle alone or together with the rubber strap?

Glad I live in Japan for once...

I have before me the 2009 pricelist from Breitling Austria (UVG) which is the official Breitling distributor for the countries we live in.

Tang buckle, stainless steel: 20€
Diver Pro with SS tang buckle: 90€

Hope this helps.

Regards,
David

Thank you for the responses.
Prices are ok, but the DPII is not available because it's a new model.
