The white face is stunning! What made you change your mind? I thinks it's gonna be a long couple of months for you. Cheers |

I guess that's conclusive proof that the suspicions of cheaper dial changes were only for discontinued models. I have no idea how Breitling can justify GBP490 for a dial and updating their records to reflect a change in colour - ludicrous. Glad that you managed to make it work for you John, just hope that the wait doesn't seem too long!! |

Glad that you managed to make it work for you John, just hope that the wait doesn't seem too long!! I have no idea really but I thought that seemed not too bad for doing that job! If you were to buy a new SA you would be looking at paying around £2800 -£3000 whereas if you really fancy it £490 seems decent value. As I say I have no technical knowledge of watches at all. How long do you think that job would take Roff and is it a complicated procedure or straight forward? Cheers |

Cheers The dial change will take about 10 minutes - remove the movement from the case, pop the hands off, remove the dial screws from the feet and you've removed the old one. Then just reverse the process for the new dial. Actually, easier than that as the dial will be coming off for the service anyway. |

The wierd thing is I always fancied the white dial but when I bought the SA I had a white faced chronomat late and the watches were similar and being an idiot I went for the black face that I didn't like as much. Now the chronomat has gone and my GMT and TT1 have black faces and my next ling is hopefully te blackbird I think its time to go to white. Also the work Breilting put into a service is worth the cost as for £490 for the face I just have to accept that that is the cost of the part. Thanks all for your interest and comments John |
