I just purchased my chrono super ocean from an AD and, after finding out that the date is enscribed behind the bracelet (3805)85. I think my ling is old(2005) and not new, is there something I should do. I thought I was get a watch from 07/08.

Erm...complain?

I had a similar thing happen to me when I bought my first Breitling at the end of 2006 - I discovered (thanks to this site) that it dated from 2004.

It was still a current model, but I admit it p'eed me off a bit to think that it had been in the window all that time.

There can be a (normal) delay of anything up to 6 months between when the case was engraved to when the watch is actually in a dealers window. It also depends on how many he has in stock and what his stock rotation is etc.

If it's a current model, I wouldn't worry too much - there's little likelyhood that the movement has been working all that time, so in terms of longevity, you shouldn't have too much to worry about - in addition, the guarantee is dated from when you purchased the watch, and not from when the watch was made.

Is the bracelet dated the same or later??....sometimes dealers will swap bracelets for straps etc.

for comparison, My SA is dated 3707 and I bought it from an AD Last week

Do you think I could get some money back, because of the age. I also found a couple of small scratches from having the bracelet taken off and on.

In the future you can ask for a brand new one ordered in if you don't want a display model... then it will likely be newer.
