well after watching the vids that a member recently posted, i decided to start dissembling and get inside all the nooks and crannies, polishing my watch before i would just do the whole thing at once, but figured id give breitlings methods a go hahah, i pretty much dont even need to clean it as i polish it like once a week in our shop, but just had to give it a try........ my buddy sent his to BUSA and they charged him $125, thats BS, just send it to me and well work something out, and youll be without your watch for 2-3 days max, not weeks

I polished professionally in my late teens/early twenties, it is a pretty dangerous game (even with the kit you display) in the hands of the untried. I'm talking personally dangerous (broken thumbs, eyes etc).

A polishing mop can cut through a piece of metal like a saw. Not trying to be neg but make sure you know what you are doing.

Forget the way it looks on that vid those guys are real pros (they make it look easy).

I'd pay the money myself and I know how to do it.

I'd never attempt such a thing unless I knew what I was doing, have a family owned jewelry store for 30 plus years now, it's a cake walk, and trust me I know how dangerous it is, ever have an 6 mm gauge rope chain get tangled and rip ur thumb apart hahah, yea not fun

Jon,

Did not mean any disrespect (I thought you might be in the know on this) just wanted others to know it is not for the untrained.

I saw missing digits, eyes etc. Lung problems from the dust/soap. Fumes from Acid dipping baths.... not good.

(It hurts both ways if it goes wrong)

no worries, didn't think you were disrespecting at all, reading back what I had wrote sounded like I was being a smart Ass, which of course wasn't the cAse. But yes it is extremely dangerous for the untrained, and had I not known how to take my watch apart and back together with no problems, I wouldn't have even attempted. Idk how much breitling charges for there cleanings Now a days, but I know one thing, I can def beat the price hahah,

The manufacture date is coded between the 6 o'clock lugs. The first four digits there (visible when the bracelet / strap is removed) is the week and year of manufacture so 2307 would be week 23 (early June) of 2007. Bear in mind that a watch could be a year old and still brand new if it has never been sold.

Has anybody sent in an Avenger M1 (Ti) for polishing? I love the watch but the Ti shows every little nudge.

Holy snakers did they do a good job. Mine is only 6 months old so it doesn't need much work but it is good to know if it ever does it can be buffed up real nice.

Very brave! :D

I've not sampled Breitling service centre polishing myslef but having seen the vids it is very detailed and impressive. I have had a Speedy bracelet refinished by Omega when it was only a month old so spotless/mint already (they were re-finishing the case but did the bracelet too while they had it) and it came back looking much better than when new.

I take my watches apart as above to clean, buff and polish them with hand tools/materials but don't think i'd dare do it with the machine tools myself.
