I am finally getting close to getting all the money I need for a watch, assuming I get a 25-30% discount. I originally wanted the Chrono Superocean but that was wayyy outta my price range, so I considered the Chrono Colt, but I don't think I'll be too happy if I get a Chrono Colt unless it's my only choice. What do you guys think of either watch? If I did get a SUperocean, it would most definitely be a used one.

Thanks

IMHO the CSO is the way to go. I have mine since 2003 and I'm more than satisfied with it ever since.
Only down is the contrast dial - that is no all-dark dial (such as blackeye blue) available.
Hope this helps.
Regards: Robertus

I love the CSO but my first, and still favourite, Breitling was my Chrono Shark, the forerunner to the Chrono Colt.

I absolutely love it and am sure the Chrono Colt will be just as good,

I think when you make up your mind on which movement you want (Auto or Quartz), there won't be any more dilemma.

I had the exact same dilemma when I was getting my first breitling. I got the Chrono Colt, which is a great watch, but as a substitute for a CSO. I ended up selling my colt and using a bit of my savings for the CSO. My advice is: don't get a watch you almost want. Get the one you want.

They're both great watches. The main difference being that the CSO is mechanical and the Colt is quartz. The colt is smaller, lighter and can take more of a beating, while the CSO is bigger, has more detailing and looks/feels more formidable.

If you haven't already done so, stop by an AD and check them out. My experience is that you never know what a watch is like before you see one in the metal.

Personnaly i have a CSO and i would get a used CSO over a Chrono Colt. That is a personnal opinion though, but i prefer mechanical over quartz as my only watch.

Also they sell at pretty good price, you can easily find them at around 2000$ for a mint watch. Take a look.

I guess that's good advice, never thought of it that way, but true! Ok, well I'm much more interested in the CSO because of the mechanical movement and its pushers (is that what theyre called?). Does anyone know the rough value of a USED CSO?

Thanks

I'd get the colt, if only because the CSO is close to the avenger pricewise, and the avenger is in my opinion a far better looking piece.

Oh, haha, I guess I skipped over that. Ya I just did some searching on BreitlingSource under the buy/sell section and they were around, like you said, the 2000s. Unfortunately, I would need to go lower... :/ Do you think it's possible to get one at like $1500? It can be banged up a bit cause can't a cape cod fix it up?

Probably a bit optimistic as a price, but who knows. Good luck!
