Hey guys I went a little crazy with the Cape Cod cloth on my Omega Seamaster Chrono and now the entire watch is highly polished. Not saying I don't like it but it looks a little odd. Is there any way I can get the polished parts back to brushed?

By the way this Cape Cod thing is insane. I polished a Tissot and a Chronomat Evo with some scratches and they are all gonzo! My 8 year old daily wear Seamaster looks like it cam out of the box, although a little too shiny.

oooh boy... well... i think your stuck (i hope im wrong) it does say not to use it on brushed surfaces. you could always rub it down with a normal cloth then if you relly want to be brave you could use the ruff side of a sponge or the "scouring pad (NOT A WIRE ONE!)" side, following the direction of the existing brished lines. - this is what my buddy in my ad told me to do

No big deal. Get a green "Scotch-Bright" pad and using the corner of a DRY pad, brush in one direction strokes. It will brush the watch finish in no time. (might take 10-30 strokes). I use this method all the time on my brushed watches.

PS cape cods are never to be used on a brushed finish for exactly that reason.

I second using the green side from a Scotch-brite pad. Just make sure you only go linear, in one direction to match so that it looks consistent.

Step away from the polishing cloth and pick up your camera.

Holidays and nothing to do?

avantix, I think you should take some pics of your other goodies in the watch case.

Hint: before you use the scotch brite pad, mask the areas that are to remain polished with masking tape. Take your time, and prepare the watch first, you will get much more professional results. Straight strokes that match the grain of the original finish is also very important.

Scotch brite pad and for real tight spots a bregeon fiberglass scratch brush # 2834 works great!!

I kinda like it polished, but then again, I like a little flash a-la SA everyday.

So I was sick of seeing it all blinged out so it took me 2 hours, an emery nail cube, lots of tape and a sunshine cloth but I finally restored the original finish on it and it looks brand spanking new. Had to take the bracelet off and the trickiest part were the two double rows of tiny polished center links but I took my time and got great results. Pic to follow.

I love a little bling now and again. And when I don't I have a couple of watches for that...
