Are Breitling Chronologs valuable after the year of the chronolog has passed? For example, let's say I have a 2009 chronolog, would it be of any value next year? I was wondering because on someone's post, they said they were going to auction a chronolog of this year, but if you could receive it free, why do such a thing?

Thanks,

Some people cant get them and so they do have a value but its hard to say what that value is.I was going to put it in a raffle with other stuff I wasnt going to charge anyone for it.

I was in the local AD last week, all they had was an 2008 copy. Yep, they must have some value, I'd like to get ahold of an 2010. Will Breitling USA send them out?

I'm not sure about the 2010, but I did receive a copy of the 2009 version a few weeks ago.

They dont really have any value. Maybe as they get older they might, but a one year old copy is worth about as much today as it was when new (whatever that is)...

I think the 2010 chronolog has been discussed but it wont be released until after Basel this year.

There is a market for old Chronologs on eBay.

I've collected them all back to 1990 paying up to £30 for some from as far afield as Brazil although I have seen them go for as much as £75!

It's the smaller catalogues which pre-dated the Chronologs which fetch the most money, usually £15-40. The older Chronologs go for £10-15 but anything from the last few years is unlikely to fetch more than £2/£3.

This is my eBay search string which will show you the going rates - breitling (catalogue, catalog, brochure, book, chronolog, katalog, cahier)

The dealers' manuals are another thing. They can easily sell for over £100.

I too have collected them back a long way and to my shame I actually paid £60 GBP for one of the harder to come by ones! The guy I bought it from on eBay mailed me after I won to ask if I'd actually really meant to put in the amount that I did!

The irritating thing was that there was a guy from France who was clearly doing the same thing at the time, and managed to outbid me on a coupel of others, so I thought there was no way I was going to lose to him again, so the "bidding red-mist" came down and I ended up with a stupidly expensive Chronolog!

It is for this reason that I won't buy another watch from Ebay! I'm terrible for it, I fell for it with my Navi. I don't regret doing it now, but I won't be doing it again, this hobby is expensive enough!

Really?

That would be unusual.

They generally start showing up around now and then there is a post Basel supplement called Runway.
