Ok, this is probably the biggest newbie question of all but a very important one. How do you correctly pronounce the word Breitling? So far I have heard 2 different ways, I thought it was the first but am not 100%.

Brit - Ling
Bright - Ling

Thanks in advance :)

It fools lots of people. I was saying brit-ling for a long time while looking at the watches but after a visit to the AD and listening to them pronounce it I quickly caught on.

I used to say brit-ling, but I started to hear it being pronounced as bright-ling. Even their web site vids pronounce it this way.

 Nice one Brian...... although I might slightly change the UK one to -

"I say, that looks like a dashed fine Bright-Ling there old boy, what."

(Just thought I'd reinforce that Hollywood stereotype that every Englishman sounds like Hugh Grant! )

Personally of course I'm in no need of the accent - I've got two left feet - just like HG...

As long we're sticking to stereotypes here, I think The American South is something more like: "That sure is nigh-us watch you got on. I bet you paid a'hunnerd dollars for that thang. What is that? A Timex? Didja get that WalMart?"

I like how the online watch brand pronunciation guide slips in the how to order a draft beer as well. That's always helpful!

The worst watch pronuciation gaff I made in public was a number of years ago at an event where I was chatting to a few watch industry people about the Montbrillant Datora, and all the while I insisted on calling it a MONT-BRILLIANT!
I felt like a right tool, when someone quietly pointed that one out!
