Post subject: | Navitimer Opinions? |
Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum, but I've been a Breitling fan for years. I'd be interested in hearing people's opinions on the basic Navitimer. I know it's been around a long time, but how is it viewed among the current Breitling collection (favorable, unfavorable, too small, classic, old fashioned, etc.)? I may be looking to purchase. Thanks, Dave |

Welcome aboard! The Navitimer is rich in history, and a very popular Breitling model. I tried on a Navitimer and Cosmonaute before I purchased my Navi-World. It's a great looking piece, but in my opinion, the Navitimer is too small on the wrist. It's size makes it difficult to read. I would visit your local AD and give it a try. ~Brian |

I agree with Brian. I think the traditional Navitimer is a bit too small. At least when compared to a lot of other watches that's out there... I don't have a Navitimer myself (yet) but will be getting one during the year. My choice is narrowed down to either the Navitimer World or the Navitimer Montbrillant Legende. I have talked to my preferred AD and he's on his way of getting the two into his shop, so that I can try them and compare them "live". This will however take a little while because he didn't know when he could have them sent to the shop. |

therod82, Don't make the mistake that many others have made here by buying 1/2 or 3/4 of a Ling to get started and then they had to go back a month or 2 later and get the Full Ling. If you like Navitimers get the Legende or the World and you will be all set with just one purchase. |

I have the Navitimer which I got last October. It was the watch I had saved for for ages and I just love it. Perhaps it is only half ling but I have small wrists so it looks full ling when I wear it. Trust your own heart that is where the right decision will come from! |

I guess wrist size comes in to play, I tried on a GT as well as a 6.75, both looked amazing and I love them but they just look to large on my wrist. I ended up going with an evolution, maybe I will hit a growth spurt at 30? ![]() |

Thanks for the input. I do have a small wrist, so I think the Navitimer would be a good size. This would actually be my second purchase as I already own a B-1. I'm looking for something a little less bulky and more sophisticated, while still retaining the classic Breitling look. Dave |

If you have a small wrist i would suggest trying on an evolution. |
