I received my Emergency Mission today, and i must say I am pleasantly surprised. I expected this watch, being quartz, to be lighter, less substantial, and smaller and therefore I was prepared to be underwhelmed. But it is a beast and I love it!!! The size is not only big in diameter, but absolutely massive in thickness. And the way the lugs and bracelet angle downwards makes it wear very comfortably as it wraps around the wrist very well. Naturally the crystal just disappears, as on all Breitlings, and combined with the matte black dial and white subs, the face is extremely legible. This watch combines many of my favorite Breitling features, the "B" second hand, polished and brushed combination, rider tabs (love rider tabs), contrasting subs, chrono, SS, pretty much everything except the auto movement. But the lack of the auto is made up for with the cool factor of the ELT, and even from a visual standpoint, the transmitter adds an interesting look to the watch with the cap which matches the crown. Overall, I'm quite pleased, in fact I like it alot more than I though I would. Now that I see it in person, I'm surprised they didn't sell more of them? I guess the rtue pilots who use them prefer the lower profile and lighter Ti weight of the traditional Emergency.
I like peripheral material, and this watch comes with lots of it. A great DVD to watch, thick booklet to read, lots of doo-dads in the box.

. Not just the bruises, but it actually jostled the chrono arms "rest" position too (which thankfully the manual has instructions on how to reset). I guess I have to always remember that as rugged & solid as the EM feels, it's first & foremost a fine instrument!
