I received my Emergency Mission today, and i must say I am pleasantly surprised. I expected this watch, being quartz, to be lighter, less substantial, and smaller and therefore I was prepared to be underwhelmed. But it is a beast and I love it!!! The size is not only big in diameter, but absolutely massive in thickness. And the way the lugs and bracelet angle downwards makes it wear very comfortably as it wraps around the wrist very well. Naturally the crystal just disappears, as on all Breitlings, and combined with the matte black dial and white subs, the face is extremely legible. This watch combines many of my favorite Breitling features, the "B" second hand, polished and brushed combination, rider tabs (love rider tabs), contrasting subs, chrono, SS, pretty much everything except the auto movement. But the lack of the auto is made up for with the cool factor of the ELT, and even from a visual standpoint, the transmitter adds an interesting look to the watch with the cap which matches the crown. Overall, I'm quite pleased, in fact I like it alot more than I though I would. Now that I see it in person, I'm surprised they didn't sell more of them? I guess the rtue pilots who use them prefer the lower profile and lighter Ti weight of the traditional Emergency. I like peripheral material, and this watch comes with lots of it. A great DVD to watch, thick booklet to read, lots of doo-dads in the box. Please excuse the crappy pics, will do better I promise. Mark ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Congratulations Mark, a beautful watch indeed! The transmitter, I also think, adds a certain something to the watch. In fact the only thing missing is an automatic movement ![]() |

Great watch Mark. Are you wearing it more than the DSSD? |

Welcome to the club ![]() ![]() Mine is going to Breitling Swiss this week on a warranty repair because the second hand on the timer does not reset properly. You just got to love Breitling for such a good warranty period (1 year) for the service ![]() I will snap before and after shots for you all. |

Do you know that you can adjust the reset position of all the chrono hands yourself? if you pull the crown out to the first and second positions, and use the chrono pushers, you can move the position of the hands. |

Feels kindda funny for a noob to say this, but, welcome to the club!! ![]() I love mine because of how unique it looks, even compared to the standard E. With my small wrist, I have to wear it pretty tight because the very substantial weight throws it around quite a bit. Once I was at the gym, and they had a punching bag up, and without much thought I threw a couple of punches... NOT a good idea ![]() ![]() But this one I cannot imagine ever selling, and I also wonder why so few seemed to own it in the various Breitling forums! |

Yep, I have tried it several times but it does not do the trick. Talked to Breitling Nordic today and they said that it is something that is not working properly in the quartz movement. I will just send it off tomorrow and wait for a while...the upside with the whole thing is that it is getting serviced again so probably it will come back looking brand spanking new ![]() Next project is to find a UTC that will fit the EM to a reasonable price ![]() |

Thanks everyone, I really like this watch. My wife has also really noticed this one, she has commented several times that she really likes it. When she has seen as many as she has, it takes something special to get her to notice! 222gms sized for 7" wrist! Heavy for a quartz! Spartan, am I wearing it more than the Deepsea..? For now, yes, because it is new, but nothing will take the place of the Deepsea in the long run. I think my collection rotation goes something like this: Deepsea 45% Ploprof 1200m 30% All others share 25% The Mission might skew these numbers for the next while. |

Congrats on the pick up Mark. Personally whenever I've tried one on I've always found the EM just too thick to wear comfortably, but it's a sweet looking piece (for a quartz! ![]() ![]() |

I just put the calipers on the Mission and was shocked to see the bezel diameter is only 43mm!!! (rider tab to rider tab) Wow, this watch wears way bigger. I would have guessed it was 45mm diameter easily. Just another reminder that you can never judge a watch by the numbers, until it is on the wrist. ![]() |
