Horrible news!!! I sold a Breitling Navitimer on Ebay at the begining of this month. Turns out the guy who bought it used a stolen credit card :wowzers Wait, it gets worse... Paypal said I am 100% responsible for the charges since eller protection doesnt cover Asian countries :( Long story short.... im screwed!!!! See ya later $3500.00 and my Navi

Horrible news.

Not much I can say to make you feel better.

Not sure if eBay can help at all, but might be worth a try. I would also contact your police, police in the 'buyers' country and your bank (that's tied to PayPal).

Not sure who can and can't help, but has to be worth a try.

If a credit card was used then the funds should be covered by the card company surely? The real owner of the card will have contacted the card company and they will take if from there. Do not pay anything back until you have spoken with the fraud department of the card's bank.

So sorry to hear about this. I wish there was something that I could think to do.

I was wondering was this guy "verified" by Paypal? If he was, then that would seem to be quite the scam. If I recall correctly verification requires you to authenticate your identity with a seperate bank account. It may be different in different countries but I think that's the way it works in the US at least.

Irregardless i'm sorry this happened to you and I hope you have a positive outcome. Keep us up to date of any progress.

Yeah, he was verified by Ebay and Paypal. Asian countries are "shady" according to Paypals standards. Thanks for telling me now.

Sorry to hear of you getting scammed. Can't really offer any advise or help, only sympathy.

Never knew PayPal protection didn't cover Asia. They keep that little piece of info quiet don't they.

Wonder what other territories they have decided are "shady"? Africa? Middle east?

Hehe paypal hasn't changed... 5 years ago we got screwed for $1500. Stolen CC used, etc etc.

Better get the jump on this with your lawyer.

FYI we never saw those $1500 back :guns:

I thought about a lawyer, but I think it will be the same outcome you had=more money on lawyer fees with no refund. All I know is I could spit nails and cry at the same time.
