hello all
i really like the skyracer model expect of the bezel.
is there any chance to fit this model with a other breitling bezel with the same size?

Ill take it one step further and say COMPLETELY unlikely.

Do you actually own a Skyracer? If not, I can tell you the watch does not photograph that well and looks much better in person, especially the bezel. What do you think about the Skyracer Raven Bezel? That is probably your only other choice here.

:yeahthat Not only do you have the issue of getting the EXACT size (which is much harder than you may think), you also have the problem that the Skyracer's bezel has internal gearing for it's slide-rule. Very few watches have that.

I would think the only chance would be the bezel from an Airwolf which is the same case size and has a slide rule.

You'd need to get an AD to ask the question for you.

Not sure if they would fit each other, but they look almost identical, which sort of defeats the purpose of changing the bezel.

I have the Skyracer Raven. Can anyone confirm if the stainless bezel from the original Skyracer will fit the Raven. Being able to alternate would give two significantly different looks. I think there are only four screws for the bezel.

Yes it will. There is no difference in the case/dial/crystal size. They are, in fact, the same watch.

Unless im mistaken, the Skyracer has one of those uber complicated geared bezels. I would advise against doing anything to it on your own.

Agreed. It isn't just a simple 2 screw deal as I understand it. But you could have someone competent swap them. Or just sell the Raven a buy a pre-owned Skyracer. ;)

I'm enough of a klutz with a regular size screwdriver that I'd never try any watch repair on my own. Luckily, my nephew who lives in town is a watchmaker.
Thanks for the info. 8)

The point is that its not a simple pop off bezel like most dive watches. Removing the bezel of a skyracer means removing the crystal as well since they are attached. It opens a whole can of worms as you start getting into water resistance issues. Also, see that little round cap on the left side of your skyracer? Thats the cover for the gear mechanism that gives the bezel its complexity. Being a watchmaker is one thing, but being familiar with what he's getting into is a different ball game.

:yeahthat

Skyracer bezel is not something to mess around with unless you understand how the gearing etc is assembled, and that's not taught in watchmaking school.

Are you sure about that guys? It's been a while since I've handled a Skyracer, but I don't recall thinking the crystal was attached to it in the same way that a Navi crystal is.

The only issue with those geared bezels is (AFAIK) that you have to be careful with a small pinion wheel that effectively provides the direct gear interface between the bezel and the case. I don't think you have to do anything at all with the gear-housing on the side. Of course I may be wrong, and either way it's still a little more complex than something like a Seawolf or Chronomat, but I don't think it's too complex.
