So, we only have one Breitling AD here in Jax, Carlyle and Co., and they are going out of business.
So what happens now?
Would another local shop possibly try and pick up a Breitling contract?
We have a Mayors Jewelers, and a Jareds near by, but they are not Breitling AD's.
It would be nice to have another shop that had a good Breitling stock in house.

If the market is big enough then I suspect that Breitling will try and find another retailer as an AD. It all comes down to the market, the distance to closest ADs, etc.

Funny, because Carlyle is up here as well and they don't (didn't) carry Breitling - so maybe it's more up to the individual store than it is the chain?

I'm fortunate in that I have three stores, two different chains, here in town that sell Breitlings, so one or the other will usually have a model in stock that I want to look at. They do occasionally get upset at me with all the drool that I leave on their nice clean counters. But such is the life of a retailer. :)

I would think that Jax is a big enough market that you'll have someone filling those shoes soon.

I'm fortunate living in an area that my Breitling really stands out, unfortunately it's mostly because the nearest AD is 3.5 hours away. When I bought my Blackbird it was solely based on pictures I had seen online and all I thought when the box arrived was... I better like this! I did, and am playing that game again this week. :lingsrock:

It's all about sales. A friend of mine gave up his AD account because Breitling demanded that he carry a display case with some unrealistic number of watches. He was in a small town and primarily a high end swiss watch repair facility. He didn't sell enough of them to make it worthwhile to tie up that much money. That's why some 'lings show up on the grey market. AD's are moving them to keep up the sales numbers.

I visited the Carlyle's in Destin Fl a few weeks ago and they are closing as well. Fortunately there is Bere' in Pensacola that's an AD.
