My recent steelfish purchase wasn't as simple and enjoyable as I expected!
I've owned Breitlings for around 7 years although only 2, a Colt chrono and a 2006 Navitimer. I decided I needed a change on the colt and went looking for a steelfish. My local ad ( major high street chain) had a silver dial pro II in stock, I tried it on and loved it! So out came the debit card, job done! The very friendly sales woman takes it away for adjustment I'm waiting around excited as hell! Then she comes out with my watch and the box! I look down and I see an older style double yellow outer box which has a big bash in the corner and is really dirty like it's been dragged across the floor. I think my face gave away my shock I asked for it to be changed but the lady said boxes were watch specific and they can't!!! She's already done all the paperwork so I head off home. Next day I decide to return it because I figured that watch must be from 2007 or before plus when I got home I noticed some scratching next to the helium valve. They really didn't want to refund but I managed to get one in the end! Never shopping with that chain again!! So I look around for about a month and come across a black dial with a diver pro which another high street chain ad had just had delivered from breitling. I really love this watch and glad I went for the diver pro as it's a little more practical for a daily wear. Anyway I get this one home and look at the warranty card, where the serial no should be the is the watches ref code and where the ref code should be is some code off the White outerbox! On top of that there's no stamp and no signature. But they managed to get the date right!! So now I have to do a 100 mile round trip to get this fixed.
Am I the only buyer to get these kind of problems or do these high street chains need a kick up the ass? With the economy the way it is you'd think they would get it right!
Really pleased with the fish it's a great watch and definately a keeper!!
). They decided that as the watch was so old and a discontinued range, then the strap would have to be specially ordered from Switzerland on back order and could take up to a month or two due to it not being made anymore!!!
