Hi guys

This is my first post so hello all. Im glad i stumbled across this fourm it has been very informative. Im looking for a little advice really, I had my heart set on a SA with a black face, black leather strap (In fact i have ordered one but there is a 6 mth waiting list ) but after reading some of the posts on here i think i might be making a mistake and maybe i should go with the steel strap instead. There are a few reasons for this the first being i could get a steel strap SA tomorrow which is a big bonus because i cant wait! And then i thought i can always get a leather strap in case i did ever want to degrade it.
Any thoughts or pros/cons on each would be greatly apreciated

Thanks

Terry

(p.s how easy is it to change the straps?)

it might be different where you are located, but i think it is actually cheaper to get the watch on the bracelet and buy a strap separately than to buy the watch on the strap and buy the bracelet later. and although the sa looks great on a strap, i think it looks that much better on the bracelet. if i were you, i would get the sa tomorrow and pick up the strap whenever one came in.

oh it shouldn't be too hard to swap between the two as long as you have the right spring bar tool. if you're afraid of scratches, you could always ask your ad to do the honors.

I think it really depend on which watch you have. For the SA, i would do the Steel bracelet because it's such a huge power house, it deserve the steel bracelet. I think the Croco or leather is better on the Navitimer or other smaller Breitling. However, I wouldn't do leather, go for the Croco, they're much better looking on the wrist.
I recently gotten the Bentley GT with the speed bracelet and it look great . I swap the Speed with my Mark VI's Croco deployant and they look terrible.

Tel1,

Welcome to the forum. Get the WHOLE Ling and get it on the steel bracelet. The Pro bracelets are great looking. You can get the Ling now or wait that long for a degraded one, hmmmm let me think(buy the full SA today)Do not degrade such a nice watch with leather or croco! I bought my Nav World on a black croco strap because I could not get the steel bracelet at the time I bought it and man that was a mistake. Trying to get a Navitimer bracelet is next to impossible and I was on the Breitling waiting list for one and they kept saying 6-8 weeks. I finally found one at a private jeweler after waiting about 7 weeks with no response from Breitling. Get the steel bracelet and you can buy those leather or croco straps all over the place if you decide to degrade your Ling at a later date... Buy the watch the way it is meant to be worn,on a steel bracelet. Enjoy your Ling and welcome aboard.

you should get the bracelet for certain. I have got both and really love the strap but the watch is nothing compared to when it has the bracelet on.
Also, i struggled to wait the 3days for my SA so i really don't think anyone could stand waiting 6months especially for such a brilliant and expensive watch.
as others have said, buy the croc strap later...i think its good to change the straps sometimes...shows a different side to the watch.
To be honest, no matter which strap you get, it will look awesome!!!!!!

The Super Avenger is definitely a FULL LING when it's on a bracelet!

The SA being discontinued soon???

That might be good news, because that means they will be replacing it with something infinitely more cool ;)

:lingsrock:

Good call on the Bracelet by the way!!!

Aren't straps easy to come by? My AD has a whole box full of straps. Why would it be difficult to find the SA on a strap, but easy on a bracelet? It seems like the hard thing to find would be the watch head itself, but that the bracelet and strap would be interchangeable.

Problem is there are only 2 (?) 24mm breitlings. The SA and the World. Both have massive waiting lists.

WHAT????

That sucks!

I'm still on watch probation.

If there was something cooler to replace it, that's one thing, but seeing is believing.
