Just thought I'd share my AD frustration with you.....

Almost 2 weeks ago I ordered a bracelet for my Navitimer World from my AD. Incidentally this was after I'd already wasted time attempting (and failing) to get a single response from dear old Authentic Watches.

Anyway, my AD took my order (and my money) on the Sunday afternoon and told me they would order it for me on the Monday. Breitling UK had loads of World bracelets in stock, and so my AD said it would be ready for collection 2 days after ordering, which would be the Wednesday. Great I thought!

So Wednesday comes and goes..... nothing. Thursday morning I phone up to ask the status of my order. Much "um-ing" and "ah-ing" ensues, followed by "Can we call you back in 15 minutes?"

Now the cynic in me can only guess at what happened next at the AD, but I think the smart money is on a frantic call to Breitling to see how quickly they could ship one down as they had clearly forgotten to order it! 30 mins later they call back and say it will definitely be in by the end of the week. I accept this, as mistakes can happen (even when you are paying over the odds for it NOT to happen) and sure enough by the following Saturday I get a call telling me it's in stock.

One painfully slow, 25 mile drive in Christmas traffic later and there I am picking up the bracelet from my AD. Another equally slow 25 mile drive home in Christmas, and now RUSH HOUR, traffic later and there I am ready to fit it to my World.

Imagine the thrill as I open the box and see the gorgeous 7 rows of polished Navi bracelet gleaming up at me.........!
Imagine my anticipation at how good it will look on my wrist...........!
IMAGINE MY TOTAL IRRITATION WHEN I REALISE THE USELESS A*SE IN THE SHOP HAD MANAGED TO ORDER ME A 22mm STANDARD NAVI BRACELET INSTEAD OF A 24mm NAVI WORLD ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the cheeky git asked me to "drop it back in" when I phoned to tell them about their mistake! Obviously I refused until the correct order arrives (which they accepted without question) and at the time of writing I am still waiting for it to turn up.

Like I say, mistakes can happen, but when you are paying £705 (approx $1400) for a simple bracelet, and when you have spent several thousand pounds with an AD, then my tolerance of mistakes rapidly diminishes!

Or maybe I'm just a grumpy (youngish) old man!

That's quite a story and adventure you have told. But, hey the christmas rush makes everyone crazy, young & old. Perhaps the person who was processing your order was trying to multi-task and forgot he/she heard it was the 24mm Navitimer Bracelet and instead just heard Navitimer Bracelet. It's a very unfortunate situtation.

Driver8,

Wow I feel your pain. I was going nuts waiting for my World bracelet. The anticipation is agony! The World looks terrible on a strap huh. They are very hard to find these days but I found one at the Beverly hills watch company and they had it to me in two days. I dealt with a guy named Fernando and he was great. I think I paid $750 US$. Good luck with your bracelet.

congrats on the bracelet, but i think the navi world looks pretty nice on a strap. i was looking at the white dial with the honey/tan strap, and i thought it looked pretty sweet. but then, i would have gotten the bracelet and the strap, so i could switch off.

Woo hoo!!! The bracelet has finally arrived!!! Fitted it yesterday and it looks awesome! I do like the croco strap too, but that is now on my SA, so the World will be wearing the bracelet permanently! :D I've taken a couple of fairly rubbish snaps that are now available in the gallery.

BTW, that's a GREAT price you got your bracelet for, Naviman. I paid £705, so that's around $1400!! Oh well, it's worth it now it's on!

Driver8,

Congratulations!!! The bracelet is a beautiful thing huh! Really sets off the watch nicely,Merry Christmas. Back in the spring when I bought my Nav all the bracelets were going for $750 US$ if you could ever find one. I got lucky with my bracelet, congratulations on yours.

So where are the pictures???

Seriously, as you already know I've ordered a 'World' with black leather deployant - I think it suits the Navitimer, and in any case, I'm at full-ling status with the 6.75...I'll wait and see before I launch myself into another bracelet saga - glad to see yours finally got sorted, and believe me I know how frustrating that sort of thing can be!!
