I was one of the first here to retrofit an Ocean Racer to my Skyland when it was released in 22mm. Since then, I have worn an Ocean Racer almost daily on a Skyland (since sold) or Steelfish and I have NEVER had the clasp self adjust on me. I don't know how others wear the strap, maybe they wear it tighter than I do (which, IMHO, negates one of the reasons for wearing a rubber strap in the first place, that it doesn't have to be really tight to fit without flopping around), though I don't wear it extraordinarily loose either.

To answer the OP's question, the Ocean Racer combines the best features of a bracelet and rubber strap, that's why it's so popular. There is about 3/8" adjustment built in to the clasp so if you get it cut so that it fits you when the clasp is set at its tightest, you will have room to grow. In any case (though I don't know the current prices), the cost for replacement rubber for the Ocean Racer was the same as the cost to buy a Diver Pro when I got my Ocean Racer, so it won't be a huge expense should you need to replace the rubber down the road.

Yes, the initial investment in the Ocean Racer is high compared to the Diver Pro, but I think it's well worth it.

It can be sized, you would have to cut sections of the rubber off to get it to fit.

wouldnt that look ugly then? yes, ugly. Cause like, it wouldnt look newly manufactured if it was cut down a bit. or is there a special method? instead of the way im thinking of, just taking a knife or somethin and cutting it...

ohhhhh. that would make sense. i kept thinking the cuts were made where the lugs are.

Ok. since I'm actually pretty sure I'm getting a watch by the end of this year (school year, June), cause i have a plan and stuff and its pretty fullproof, I was looking into the airwolf and I like the raven, but depending on pricing, if I do get it, I'd get it on a a rubber strap. I honestly like both the ocean racer and the diver pro, almost equally. What do you guys think is most cost efficient? If I get the ocean racer, I'd get it sized to my wrist, but obviously, I'm still growing and it'd be too small in like, at max, 3 years. So, should/would I go with the Ocean racer, which I'd more than likely have to buy again after a few years, or the diver pro, which I'd only need to buy once. I also wanna know like, which would be the better strap, cause it probably is, but the diver pro is a tang buckle (if thats what its called) and i don't want ANY chance of my watch falling off or something. Thanks.

They're both secure. The Ocean Racer strap is three times the price of the Diver Pro. I have both and I prefer the Ocean Racer Strap HOWEVER, that damn clasp self-adjusts ALL day long and it gets annoying. Design flaw? You bet!!

ALL three self-adjust on me no matter how tight or loose I wear it. It adjusts whenever my arm/wrist rests down on a table, arm chair or whatever - THAT'S when it adjusts. The pressure of the clasp hitting the table and then against my wrist is enough to make it move. This happens aon all three of my straps.

I think both straps are expensive to completely honest, but when calculating from a 'what do you get for your money' point of view, I think the OR or DPII with deployant represents a better value. Like Ross said, you size it toward small on the micro adjustment so if you need to expand it, youll have room. If you grow a lot, you can just buy a new rubber piece for like a hundred bucks.

Ok, sounds good. I'm very glad I asked this question! Thanks, for all the information. Since I am really interested in the rubber strap, either one, since it also suits my age more, over the bracelets, I'm still going to have to pay an extra thousand to get the Airwolf Raven cause IMO it looks tons better with a rubber strap vs the regular Airwolf with a rubber strap. The regular ariwolf with a bracelet, though, is 1k cheaper
