I have a Colt GMT and am looking to put it on a bracelet, but am not interested in the standard polished bracelet, due to it getting scratched (this is my 'daily' watch). Does anyone know if the brushed, or brushed /polished versions, from other Aeromarines will fit properly (20mm)?? I've called BUSA, but all they'll tell me is what bracelet comes on the watch. Any experience in this area? PS - this question also posted on TZ. Thanks, for the help!

If you can pull it off, you could get the endlinks for the Colt bracelet, brush them yourself and then use them with a 20mm bracelet(assuming we're talking pro2). The problem will be getting just the endlinks you need.

Is that going to be the issue, that each of these models are slightly different in the area between the lugs? So, no other model bracelet can be used without it being ill-fitting? I know the fit of the bracelets, on my other Breitlings, are just perfect. Thanks

Correct, the end links are generally unique to each watch model. Very occasionally some will fit other models - like the old Chronomat Pilot bracelet used to fit the B-1 (I think), but generally speaking, the end links are extremely watch-specific.

Just picking up something in your first post though - you say you don't like polished bracelets because of scratches. While scratches show more on polished bracelets, the polished surfaces are actually easier to maintain than brushed finishes. Cape Cod cloths will polish up a bracelet nice and easily, whereas using scotch-brite pads or a fibreglass touchup pen on a brushed surface is a little more tricky.

Taking this a step further...could some one enlighten me on having a polished bracelet 'brushed'? How difficult? Can a local watch guy do it? will BUSA do it? Anybody had this experience? Thank you

I have done it using 1200 grade wet and dry but do one link at a time and always go in the same dirrection and it comes out quite well I have found
