Post subject:  Color on dial

Hi

I am about to buy my first Breitling, a Colt GMT with professional II, but I just can´t decide if I´m gonna have white or black dial. What do you guys think? Which is most common?

Thanks for a good forum.

I believe that black dials are more common than white ones. A white dial may cause the effect that your watch looks bigger.

For the Colt, the white dial with the silver numbers might be more difficult to read at a quick glance but I doubt that would be any greater significance.

Simply go with the one you like most!

Best of luck with your purchase!

:yeahthat Personally I tend to like black dials on "proper" dive watches as it makes the contrast between hour markers/hands and the dial itself much easier to read off at a glance. I also think that the darker colours are more in keeping with the diver's watch look.

However, the Colt GMT isn't a divers watch, so I think both the light and dark dial colours work equally well. My Steelfish has a black dial, whereas my SA has a white dial and it looks great, so really it's all down to personal preference.
