On the Windrider Crosswind (without diamonds) there is a ring around the inside of the bezel. Can someone tell me what the correct term is for this piece :? ? thank you in advance for your courtesy. Bryan

If you mean the piece between the bezel and the crystal it's called the chimney and it's part of the case.

thank you for the info. Can you further tell me if this particular piece is subject to an inordinate amount of "dings"?, and if so, can they be buffed out by a good watchmaker? Thank you for your time. Bryan

The chimney can get dinged fairly easily and yes, it can be polished out if it's not too deep.
