Post subject:  To those who own a Navi...
When you tap on the glass with a fingernail, does it make a loose/hollow/clicking type noise? Im pretty sure its normal, but for some reason I found myself tapping it today and became curious. Its not the glass thats loose, but appears to be the way the bezel is attached that causes the effect.

Same thing here with my Navi World.
I took it to my AD and asked him to "fix" it; he changed the gaskets for me and it helped a bit; now the bezel is much tighter than before but the
"loose/hollow/clicking type noise" is still there...

I remember forum member Mah had the same thing with his WORLD and had it sent for a complete overhaul. He said that the noise had stopped, or was much less, I cant remember.

Bottom line.......... all NAVIs are delicate.

I haven't noticed it on my Monty - the bezel is still quite stiff - but it gets very little wrist time.

I have been away from home for nearly 4 months and didn't bring the little devil with me as it was supposed to be sold (maybe it still is, must send an email) but have really been missing it for the "life" it has when compared with my B-1 & Aerospace.

Any way - I digress:

Interested to hear from others with a similar problem - any guide to the age of the pieces involved?

I've often wondered the same thing on my navi, I came to the conclusion that it must be down to expansion and contraction within the watch. try taking it off for ten minutes or so then tap the glass, the sound is totally different, much more solid. I still refuse to accept that navis should be wrapped in cotton wool, they are a good everyday watch which are far tougher than people give them credit for. :lingsrock:

My Navi doesn't make any noise when tapped? The bezel is very tight and rotation is quite stiff. I don't understand why people say they are Fragile? If I am doing something where it may get damaged, I wear my Seiko "beater".

Why would you risk damaging your Breitling when you've got a beater?

Hi All!

Currently, I own two Navitimers and none of them make any noise whatsoever - however, the bezel rotation is much more arduous on the Snowbird (need lots of elbow grease - lol). Conversely, the 50th bezel can be rotated somewhat effortlessly as compared to the former.

Furthermore, I agree with you 1000% Staffwolf - the Navitimers arent as fragile as people protray them to be! As stated in a previous thread I have done it all wearing a Navitimer including getting it wet before knowing that they do not like water - it's like wearing a pussy cat on your wrist or more like a Bengal Tigress - LMAO :guns: :guns:

Tap, Tap, No nothing, I can hear the sound of the sea, oh that's cause I am in the middle of the Atlantic

Its been talked about before, general view was loose gaskets/seals, when did you last have a service?

And no cotton wool here, its always Navi time :wink:

My Navi makes the same clicking/hollow noise when I tap the crystal with my fingernail. I noticed this some time ago and just assumed it's normal, but any professional opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks for the input everyone. Sounds like it might be a normal thing, but I guess ill have them take a look when I take it in for regulation.

Hope the regulation goes well.

Interesting topic. Mine doesn't seem to make too loud of a noise, nothing that bothers me anyway and my slide is fine, takes a little bit of effort to wind but that's good as it's therefore not too loose.

Navi's are tough enough :D

My bezel actually seems to have the perfect resistance. Firm, but not tight, and not loose. When I just got it the first thing I thought was how the bezel felt just right.
