I just got up and personal with the brushed Blackbird at my local AD. This is truly an amazing watch. Much more so in person. It took great restraint to not leave with it. The faceted bracelet seems very comfortable. It also wears smaller than other Bs of similar or larger sizes; not to say it looks small. The black face also seems more "slate" color than flat black. IMO brushed seems better looking than polished, although polished looks better when it shines. I am not sure to be happy to have a local AD because these "things / blings are so very addicting. I did finnaly notice the minute hand jumping when the chrono was activated. I see this with my Fortis as well, only the Fortis does not look nearly as good when it does it.

On a different note, let's see those Blackbird pics!! Also, if there is a cure for the addiction, keep it to yourself!

One of my favourite all-time Breitlings. The whole dial layout, the special pilot bracelet just for the Blackbird, and the big date make it very exclusive. I pointed out to my AD that it is the only Breitling that has a black background on the date window, which matches the dial. I keep repeating myself on this forum about that, but it really is a pet peeve of mine. There are some exceptions, where the white date looks good - like my 2009 Seawolf for example - all the numberals and markers are white, so it fits in perfectly. It looks really good as well on the Blacksteel models.
Anyway, I forgot to mention the back of the case on the Blackbird as well. Another exclusive.
If I could justify the price, I would not hesitate. However, I like the looks of my Seawolf even better, although it's bulkier on the wrist. And it is about half the price. Another thing is that I have no real love of chronographs, as exemplified by the fact that I bought an AS Blacksteel, and it has now been sold.
Cheers,
Carl

I really do like the Blackbird and it's a shame that mine has been robbed from me. Pictures really don't do it justice, it is definitely a beauty up close and personal.

I have a decision to make now with the insurance money I will be receiving, replace the Blackbird or perhaps a B01, Submariner LV, GMT IIc.

By the way, once again sorry to hear about your bad experience.
If you're interested, I was at Time & Gold yesterday, and they have a brushed Blackbird in the window. I know for a while I didn't see one either at La Swiss or Time & Gold.
Cheers,
Carl

I've know they were getting one in when I purchased mine, I guess that is possibly the one that came in. I ended up getting mine from La Swiss, they had one at a store in Montreal and shipped it over to me in two days. La Swiss has the polished version right now. I've looked at it a couple times now, it is quite shiny, a little too much for me but still very nice. Perhaps, I'll pop in and see what else they have, who knows maybe I will just buy another Blackbird, it sure is a beauty.
