After several years of wishing for a Breitling I finally purchased my 1st one from Barry Cole at Bere's!
I went with a Balck Dial Avenger Skyland and purchased the black leather strap (tang) as well. I received the watch in the new style box. I highly recommend Barry, superb customer service and very patient with the numerous questions I had about the watch. I also want to thank all the forum members for so much useful information that I read up on prior to the purchase, this really helped me narrow down my choice to the Avenger Skyland.....the only problem is that I'm already thinking of which Breitling is next on the list!

Thanks guys!

p.s. I'm flying out to Vegas tonight for the weekend and will be window shopping for the next ling.....any ADs you guys recommend that are pleasant to browse?

Congrats on your new purchase! The Avenger is a great watch. Barry at Bere' Jewelers has always treated me right and he always does what he says. Rare trait in business these days.

I would recommend Tourneau at the Forum shops next to Ceaser's. Last time I was there they had a good selection of Breitlings, and it's a cool store to boot!

Have fun with your new purchase and welcome to the world of Breitlings.

Conner,

I actually did not like Tourneau's...they were too pushy. My favorite Breitling shop was Horologio at the Venetian. Wynn Jeweler's also has an excellent selection (of Breitlings and pretty much everything else, too) if you happen to be wandering through that hotel.

If you do go to Caesars, make sure to stop by Roman Times. It's a little shop across from Tourneau that must have the most high-end watches per square foot of anywhere in Vegas. They don't carry Breitlings, but have fantastic collections of many other brands including Omega, IWC, JLC, UN, Piaget, and Zenith.

I agree with the Tourneau folks being pushy, just think it's a cool store with all the brands. Horologio at the Venetian does have a great selection, better than the Wynn IMHO. Roman Times is a cool store also.

I guess we watch nuts flock to the same spots!

Good choice there mate 8) I find that model sits very comfortably considering its thickness and weight.

Looks like the new style travel case is a lot bigger now I've seen a watch in one

Just got back from Vegas last night and my head is still spinning from all the watch shops I visited!

I had pleasant experiences at all the dealers, with the exception of an odd one at Tourneau inside the Forum Shops.
I was browsing through the many different brands of watches they had after I had checked out their Breitling selection.
I was looking at the Panerai selection when I sales lady approaches me and asks if there's any watch I'd like to see from Panerai. I told her I was just looking, she noticed my Breitling and she stated that with a Panerai and/or Rolex watch I'd be making a much better investment than with a Breitling due to Panerai and Rolex maintaining their re-sale value, while Breitlings don't. This statement irritated me and I told her I bought the watch to keep and not as a profit decision. I then walked away....I headed over to another section....

When I got to the Omega section a young sales guy (probably mid 20s) asked me if I'd like to see any watch, I asked him if I could see a Speedmaster (it was a special edition version at around $10k). He noticed my Avenger as well and asked me if I'd like to trade it in for the Omega and kinda chuckled when he asked. I told him that I wasn't interested in trading it in and he quickly laughed again and responded that he wouldn't have taken my Avenger Skyland in as a trade for the Omega being how Omega is a far superior brand of watch than Breitling. He went on to say that the co-axial movement in Omega is also far superior to what I have in my Avenger. This really bothered me, but to be honest with you guys I'm not an expert in watch movements, nor in the exact hierarchy of watch brands, so I didn't attempt to argue with him about it and just handed back the Speedmaster. At this point I felt really uncomfortable in the store and just decided to leave.

Being new to Breitling I'm amazed at what a negative attitude/opinion these 2 "salespeople" had about my watch. I'm not sure what the root cause or motive for their comments was, but both of these people have no business selling watches. Any thoughts?

Honestly, this is just bad business. Despite their personal opinions of Breitling, it is often better to not say anything else if they could not say something positive. This is what happens when chains place such an emphasis on "sell, sell, sell". Ultimately, said chain has a high turnover rate of employees who have little to no actual knowledge of the product, as well as fewer and fewer return customers.
Personally, I will never purchase at Tourneau because of this.

I'm sure the management would love to know their associates were basically bad mouthing Breitling. There is a reason that Breitling is in the front right of their store, Rolex is front left and Cartier is center.

The other brands work there way towards the rear.

You didn't happen to get names of the associates did you?

No, I didn't get the name of either associate, but the guy at the Omega counter was probably in his 20s and had shoulder length straight hair along with a goatee. Just kind of shocking that they would talk negatively about a brand that they do sell.
