For me I would never buy a second hand strap.

It's kinda like buying used shoes.

I agree, I would never buy or wear a used strap, I can't understand why some people do.
It does not matter what it costs new, if it;s used it's worthless to me.

From a purely personal perspective, I've got to agree with what the others have said regarding second hand straps. I just can't help but think about all the sweat and skin matter that will be engrained in it! I reckon they'll probably have more human DNA in them than cow (or croc) after a few weeks!

However, there definitely is a market for used straps, so in terms of what this one is worth I'd say probably no more than about £100 at the most. UK list is over £300 brand new, so I guess you might make £100 on it.

Funny. Years ago, when I actually made more money than I do now, back in the days when we all wore suits to the office, I would buy used shoes. Truly. There was a shoe repair place downtown where I would get my shoes resoled, and they had used shoes from manufacturer fashion shows. Worn once, but 50% off retail, or thereabouts. So I was able to buy some really good quality shoes at an affordable price. Hey, at least the models wore socks, right?

Anyway, I don't think you can get cooties from a used watch band. Just clean it good and you'll be fine. :)

I'm sure you can sell it. Put it in the "for sale" forum with a nice price. You shouldn't have much trouble selling it for 75. Sorry, I'm in the USA, I don't know how to put the Euro symbol in there.

Don't let these crazy people here discourage you - lots of folks will buy a used strap, especially if the price is right. You may not make much profit, but you should be able to get your money back.

I'd say it's worth more than you paid for it, especially if you clean it up.

To all: Come on, he asked what it was worth, no need for rants/implied rants about if you would buy it or not.

Personally, I don't mind buying a used strap as long as it's fairly new. Just an extra bonus to have someone else break it in for you. And for all the "used shoe" analogies, you guys are of course aware that the finest handmade custom shoes are actually worn by someone else (with matching feet) for a few weeks just to break them in?

The fact is that it's just kinda gross..

When you look at the band you can see that the part that touches the skin is "well oiled".

I think if you used some neutral PH cleaner like lexol and cleaned it up real nice and let it dry for a couple days and followed it up with the Breitling strap conditioner it would be OK. When it's done it should smell like good leather.

A shocking price new aren't they!?

I managed to pick up a brand new 22/20 Croco on Ebay including new raised wings buckle for £209, went very nicely with that new box too!
