So I'm at the Doctors because I have a dull, constant pain in my left shoulder. Turns out I have chronic tendonitis (brought on by Crossfit), and should stop doing any exercise that causes pain. I was wearing my SA, and the doc pointed to it and asked, "Do you normally wear that?" I nodded yes, to which he replied, "I think that might be aggravating your shoulder more. You might want to stop wearing it for a while."

Who knew wearing such heavy watches were dangerous?

I'm now trying to wear it on my right arm, but it's not fitting very well at all there. ...Thought you guys would find this funny, and could possibly relate.

I have never heard of someone developing a shoulder problem from a SA before... Don't really know if to congratulate or express my condolences. Either way, I hope you get better.

The tendonitis was developed from Crossfit, but the doc said wearing such a heavy watch would hinder/prevent any recovery because the first step in treating tendonitis is rest, and moving my arm around with the additional weight wasn't allowing it to rest. The SA is also heavy enough that it might actually cause enough strain on the tendons to actually make the problem worse. I too feel conflicted about this, since I've stopped wearing it on my left shoulder I've noticed some improvement, which makes me happy and sad at the same time. Thanks for the well wishes, I hope to make a full recovery in about six weeks.

...In the meantime, I plan on apologizing to my Super Avenger every morning before work, and explain why it can't come with me. ....Don't want it to get mad at me.

Sounds a bit extreme to me, a watch hindering healing, but if you've stopped wearing it for a bit and it helps, go with it and get better soon :)

As the founder of the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Super Avengers, I'm going to have to ask you to surrender the watch to me for placement in a proper home. Now just because it's my home is no reason to suspect anything fishy.

Trust me.

On a serious note, please accept my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Cheers,
Bruce
